Somebody fans are still gonna complain about it when they 3 or 4 sec teams every year.
Whoever the top 12 are is who should be in the playoffs. That is what a playoff is about the best teams not picking evenly among conferences. Folks need to quit getting hung up on how many from a conference makes it in. Not all conferences are created equal. If you want to play power 5 football be tough or get off the porch. It’s about the best teams and the conference champ will get a automatic spot. You can’t expect a invite if your not ranked in the top 12 no matter what conference your in.

Against The New College Football Playoff

It’s hard to argue that a sport is suffering when it is dominating the ratings for prime-time television and just signed a new football playoff deal worth $450 million.

But ratings aren’t everything and actual game attendance has been steadily declining since 2008. The same is not true with the NFL, which has seen in-person attendance bounce back. Any sport which is experiencing declining game attendance is only hollowing out its future television fan base and clearly, the current in-game experience isn’t what it used to be.

So what happened?

Against the new college football playoff
Attendance was up this year. Across the board. This article is full of bull.

I’d recommend folks watch what Josh Pate said yesterday (amplification on Franklin Pierce response above)….

As rabid fan, I’d be thrilled to have VOLS win another CFB Championship, However, I do think/agree expanded CFP will fundamentally change the game that many of us has enjoyed for decades. Money talks though…. at the end of the day, we are all just spectators.

While driving yesterday, heard interview with book author. Quit: The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away by Annie Duke

Listening in to interview, I’m thankful our team (and fandom) doesn’t appear to be in position to quit… we’ve got a great brand/staff/players/fans who are giving their all.

Go VOLS!

I don’t like the 4 team playoff and I think a 12 team playoff is ridiculous. I’d prefer just to go back to the BCS.

I'm good with it. It's been way too top heavy for a long time. The top 4 have a obvious advantage but the rest get a chance, which is more than they have been given. Cheapen the regular season or make it more important? Getting one of those 4 bye weeks seems to me would make the regular season really important. I think it will be good for college football in the long run.

So glad we settled the question of "how do we determine which of these top teams are truly the best" by letting 9-3 Florida State get a shot.

Yeah I’m with you on this one but you know it’s coming

I think the reason 12 was chosen was to reward conference champions.
I love to watch football, so from that perspective I like it. From a ”good football” standpoint, we will see many blowouts. The 1 vs 4 games have been bad games, imagine 1 vs 8 after their first round bye. If 12 upsets 6, it will be 1 vs 12, not good.
