finebaum: is saban cracking up?

He was leading the pack in the coronation of the 'Saban is our Savior' movement....his Saban crush was really disgusting and he was hyperventilating at the mention of his name....now, since the Great One did not perform the miracle in T-town that they were expecting, a lot of people feel very foolish that they had to pay this guy the big $ and got embarassed this year...Nicky's reputation as a pompous $ss has been realized by the fans and media and some of these recruits may get thrown under the bus if they don't live up to expectations...if I were a top recruit, I can think of a lot of coaches I would rather play for..

If things get rough at UAT and Saban tries to turn tail like he did on the Dolphins, he won't find another $4 million parachute waiting for him. He's going to have to show something in Tuscaloosa or his stock as a coach is going to drop.

But if he racks up a 10-win season down there, he'll be gone for the next Big Ten opening.

He'll be fine. Unlike the Dolphins, UAT doesn't have to worry about a salary cap. :birgits_giggle:

Is't he supposed to get all the 32 million no matter what he does even if he leaves for another school??

Saban referred to the loss of assistant coaches as "...something like the Holocaust, Tsunami and Trail of Tears combined. But, that's what brings teams together..."

Nope. Tom my understanding, his current contract carries no buyout clause. If he leaves, he leaves with what he has earned as of the date of his firing/quitting.

If he bolts for another school or nfl team one of our fans will kill him. Seriously!
