Everyone is entitled to both their opinions as well as their own freedom of speech.
To call someone not a true fan or a fair weather fan, and then to invite them to go join another team when YOU do not speak for the team nor have any formal association with the athletic department is just rather silly. But it is your right to be as silly as you want.
The downward spiral of Fulmer (and staff) has been WELL documented in the more traditional media, and the pressure that is mounting on him is well deserved.
The fact is that he is a CEO of a very large corporation making a massive paycheck. That in itself requires massive accountability.
"No!" you say? Then you have a situation not unlike other situations in corporate America--see the Big Three auto makers a few years ago, Enron, the ariline industry now, etc.....
To call for accountability and improvement in the misutilization of what no one denies are massive resources MARKS one as a true fan, and indicts those who blindly defend the status quo as naive or worse.
Many of us (regardless of how long or how many posts we have made to one "fan board" or another) have been supporters of the Vols both financially and otherwise for many, many years--including the dry years when the Music City Bowl would have been a wonderful trip. And some of us have actually worked there--making the University a better place.
Stick to the issues. Name calling, straw man arguments, guilt by association, and outright whining are not becoming of anyone from the fine state of TN, regardless of whether one is a Vol fan or not.
Leave that to Florida.
