It's crazy. My step-daughter and her boyfriend live in Santa Rosa. They came down for a few days as they had lost power and the smoke was unsafe to stay. She's a teacher and her school is closed this week. They've been lucky so far but there is devastation all around them. 40+ mph winds just created havoc with the fires.
17 deaths so far, still about 200 unaccounted for, but hopefully that is due to communications being down.
I am safe. My ex is still in Napa and has yet to evacuate, but she has her car loaded and ready to leave. I was up there this past weekend and it was a typical beautiful fall weekend.
And today is looking bad, winds are picking back up.
