First offensive play vs OU: your choice?

Maybe not the first play, but if ever there was a day to use the "draw" this is it, they have great pass rush, and an avg secondary..... we have young talent but we certainly do have receiving and running back talent. We're not going to stop that defensive line from penetrating with current o-line, just be prepared, but we need to make them bleed now and then when they surge.

I don't think Oklahoma has better athletes, we have just as much talent on this team. It's young and inexperienced though.....but the idea that they are somehow faster, and overall better athletes I don't agree with. Our deficit is in experience...but stranger things have happened then us to give them a fight they were not expecting.

Not doing this negavol thing to try and be cool and in the know. Maybe I am putting on the orange shades, but I think this is going to be a fight, not a blowout.

Okie D blitzes and Worley is chased out of the pocket. As he runs for his life he seeks an open anybody and lets go with a shot to the sideline as he gets crushed by 500 lbs. of linebackers etc. But LO, the ball is caught and waltzed in for a TD,the Okies too busy gloating over hammering the poor QB to notice the reception. HEY, a man can dream can't he?

Mine: play action then deep drop, air it out to a post-route-streaking North. 5-10% chance of success, but at least a message is sent. Roll the dice. Go big or go home.

What would you choose?

Play action hot pass to the tight end. Hard to stop.

We've only had one good recruiting class the last four years. There is a huge overall talent gap.

Play action bomb to either North or Croom on the post, tell one or the other to go get it. Deliver that message early, they're too small for our guys deep.

Skinny post to the TE , whoever that may be.

The likely call will be a 3 yard loss on the 3 second delayed handoff option or whatever they want to call it.

We have had quite a few "good" recruiting classes, we have had one "excellent" recruiting classes. I am not saying we are on par with a program like this overall.....(YET!), but I think our athletes are on par with the Sooners. I'm sure that guy that compares recruit rankings will post soon......see how he ranks.

Experience matters A LOT though, and so does confidence....even so I think we'll keep it an interesting game, and not a blow out, and I am still hoping with the right luck, coaching, and voodun we might get an upset.....not going to vegas with that, but I have hopes.

Regardless of what the recruiting rankings were at the time if our 2011-2013 were re-evaluated they would not be anywhere close to top 20 classes. Never mind the almost complete lack of quality linemen. Yes each of those classes have a bright spot or two but not nearly enough. As an example just compare our 2014 class with what we have left out of any of the previous three classes. I don't think people realize just how much attrition we've had. Huge drop off occurs between our first team and second team. Hell we don't even have a second team O-line. After the next two classes our overall talent level will be back to top 10.

As far as the game with Oklahoma goes anything can happen. Best talent doesn't always win. Any given Saturday.........
