Stay in Jacksonville or one of the beaches east of Jacksonville, they are far better places to visit and stay than Gainesville.

Dress cool. It will be hotter than you can imagine. Ill be there as well. I go with some Gator fans so Ive never had a problem with their fans. Glad its a 7pm kickoff as it will not be quite as hot as those afternoon kickoffs. Go Vols

I live in Orlando and havent been back since 04'. Worst fans, had beer thrown on me and ripped my flags off my car windows. Stadium is super old and out of date and Gainesville is a nasty college town. As others posted, stay more Jacksonville or even Oralndo (2.5 hrs) isnt too far of a drive. Better restaurants and bars and nightlife too.

Even if it's 100 degrees wear a poncho, there is some truth in the rumors you hear.

I know that some people have had negative experiences with Gator fans. I never have. But I’m kinda big guy and I don’t look for trouble going to or from the games. Have fun and cheer the Vols on to our first win in Gainesville in 20 years.

When you're trying to figure out what a Gator fan is yelling at you, remind yourself that they are only capable of stringing together single-syllable words. That usually aids in translation.

Also, see if Google or Facebook or Tik-Tok have started marketing earplugs. They claim to be cutting edge on filtering hate speech.

Take a thick skin... You will be tested by every drunk jort wearing loser there. Went there in '99 and swore I would never go back, and I haven't.
I've said that 3 times. Please bring us a W. I have only one from 2003.

It’s equator hot there and the reptiles are actually just nasty fans in jorts. I went to a game when they won and they were horrible. Can’t imagine them when we beat them like a rented mule. Good luck. Stay strong.

For an extra hour’s drive you can visit the nicer west coast beaches (St. Pete, Clearwater, etc).

Definitely make a long weekend out of it.
