You guys are more than welcome to come to our tailgate, we'll have a lot of different food, tv's and beverages of every type including mountain shine. Just let me know we are a 5-7 minute walk to the stadium.Hello everyone. Lifelong Vols fan going to my first game this October vs Bama. Me and about 4 buddies. So, looking for advice on how and where to tailgate because we are flying in from Philly so we won't have any supplies. I am looking at a company that provides a a full tailgate setup but they are quite pricey, almost $4000 for the tailgate tents, TV, tables, Food etc. They would provide tents on Poplar Street parking lot or Parking garage G, wherever these are.
Is that my best bet to just get it all done for me, or are there other less expensive options available once I'm down there. I'm sure I could buy a tent, beer and food, but I don't no how to get a spot.
We are big local tailgaters so the tailgate experience is just as important to us as the game is.
Open to your advise and suggestions. Really excited to finally get to a game!
Hey UT_Dutchman! Me and four buddies go to a different school each year. Tennessee this year. Vols v. Bama. Room for extras at the tailgate? Will bring plenty of drinks.Yes we will be in the Methodist church lot. We have the 6 spots down by their sign closest to the world's fair park. Come on most are getting there between 7am and 10.
vol club has a barge on the river and hosting a tailgate. $100 ticket but well worth it with good and alcohol and a awesome experience on the river! I will be there .Hey UT_Dutchman! Awesome. Thank you for the detailed response! We went to the tailgate party last week v. Gators. I have been so many times. VOLS have a lot of free vendors and things to do, both at circle park (where all the food and drink tailgators are) and across the street where the free stuff, stage, music and cheerleaders are before the game. It's all free. I don't know of any of the vendors in circle park would not invite you in for drink and food. We went and just tipped the bartender at one booth.....but they all have (and there area LOT of them) drinks and food. Just go up and tell them about your first time there and where you are from. You will do fine. Don't forget to go to the VOL NAVY at the river. If you strike up a conversation with them, some of the yachts will even give you a tour of their boat. It's way too cool.
