Im not seeing anyone else we have a chance at surprising, do you? We arent going to beat KY, or Georgetown or Xavier, or even Mizzou....who would you consider a quality win then? Vanderbilt may not be ranked right now, but they are always good, and winning at their place is no easy task for anyone, so winning on the road would be surprising. And yea I don't see this team going out there and being a single digit loss team, not enough big man depth.

Beating Vandy shouldn't be a surprise. Vandy shouldn't be very good this year, home or away. This team has enough big man depth to complete with anyone on their schedule once Maymon is healthy. And UT has a reasonable chance to beat any or all 4 of the teams you mentioned. You don't think UT can beat Bama at home? Or Florida? Or Ole Miss? Those would all be bigger wins than beating what should be a middle of the pack(or worse) Vandy team (Oregon beat Vandy by almost 30 points already this year).

And this is just my opinion, whats your predictions?

I haven't put enough thought into the whole season to make those predictions. I just know Vandy is not as good as you seem to think they are and this team is better than I think you are giving them credit for. 17 wins? That's less than last year.

What are your predictions for the Season....
Record =
Big Win =
Disappointing Loss=

My picks: Call Me Crazy and Bias Elsewhere but here they are...
Record: 17-13
Big Win: Vanderbilt
Disappointing Loss: Alabama

A lot depends of Maymon, and if/when he returns. Assuming Maymon returns in a decent amount of time, record should be around 21-9 or 22-8.

Big win: Kentucky(i think we win one, either here or there)

Disappointing loss: Georgia

Now on to your predictions, are you a Tennessee fan? Your predictions and username make me think you're a Memphis fan???

17 wins is about the lowest total I've seen from anyone, that'd be a serious disappointment.

Vanderbilt, big win, seriously? Vandy is garbage this year, check out how they've played so far. They lost all 5 starters and their 6th man...that is a BAD team...that's an expected win, not good win.

On the flip side, disappointing loss Bama? Bama should be a NCAA tournament team, or very close to it at least. So a loss to Bama, most definitely isn't a disappointing or bad loss.

Who says we aren't going to beat any of those teams? Nobody expected us to beat UCONN and Florida twice last year, but we did.

Xavier isn't even a good team this year, what're you talking about, we will be favored in that game.

Not enough big man depth, what? Even without Maymon we have 2 legitimate SEC post starters, Yemi is a solid backup. That's not counting all-sec forward jeronne Maymon who's expected to return. With Maymon Tennessee has one of the best and deepest frontcourts in the country...I'm really not sure if you're serious with that comment.

1996 - don't remember who we played but I was sitting in the lower level and fell asleep. They got me on camera and it made it on local news that night.

Had to work out the date (gotta love Wikipedia). It was February 24, 1982. UT played Georgia at Stokely. Dominoque Wilkins was on that Georgia team. It was the night that my father decided I needed glasses since I couldn't make out any of the players and kept asking what the score was.

Plenty of "Sit Hugh, Sit" being chanted that day.

My first game was the Vol Classic in '79, I believe.

I know I attended games before this, but this is the first that I consciously remember details about. Home against Syracuse in 1992. Allan Houston set the school scoring record and Tennessee lost a close game 87-81 I believe.

1972 at Stokely. Tennessee beat Temple 11-6 in what I think still holds the record for the lowest scoring game in DI basketball. Temple held the ball most of the game and Ray Mears stayed in a zone defense. Had to be there to believe it

Early days of the four corner offense. Damn, I hated those.

Florida. Not sure about the year. I do remember how cool I thought the Tennessee state logo was on the court.
