-I bet Chris Singleton dreams of playing in TBA.. Florida St. squeezed by Jacksonville 59-57 and got outscored by them 40-29 in the second half.. Singleton scored 12 points and grabbed 17 boards

-What i predicted might be a bump in the road now seems unlikely since Temple barely got by Charleston 70-65

-UCLA beat Praire-View 82-58, no reason they shouldnt have atleast scored 100 and no way Praire View should have scored more than 45.. They better get Malcolm Lee in the starting lineup quick, move Holliday to point and let Collison be the sixth man

-Kentucky will fight Georgia to stay out of last place in the east this year.. VMI was picked to finish 9th in the Big South behind Winthrop, Gardner Webb (lol), Radford, High Point, Libery, Charleston Southern, UNC-Asheville and Coastal Carolina... yea....

-Elliot Williams seems to be a good fit at Duke, he hasnt scored much but as the season goes on he and Gerald Henderson will put on some highlights

-Oregon St. lost to Howard lol, although that princeton offense does take a while to take its effect.

I'll make you a reasonable wager on this commentary.

they'll be in the top 3. You do recall their start last year, right?

07 Gardner-Webb>>>>>>08 VMI..

Just because they started out the season horribly wrong with a loss to a far inferior team the same way they did last season doesnt mean theyre gonna end up with a succesful season just like last season, you should know something about that.. sound familiar?

I do think UK will get better, but I think it's worth noting that UK barely squeaked by in the vast majority of their 12 SEC wins last season. All of them could have been losses. That shows that they knew how to win, but that 12-4 record could also turn out to be fool's gold - the SEC was down last year.

My head says BPV is right, but I hope Popcorn is right on the money.

If UK does continue to stuggle, will somebody finally deliver the KO?
Last year, had Vandy not lost at Rupp in 2 OT, that would have been an early knockout blow. The Vols also had a chance to put them down for good (well, at least for the season). Everybody kept letting them get back up until they finished 12-4. If they are again on the ropes in January, here's hoping that somebody finishes the job this time.

In all of Kentucky's SEC wins last season they won by an average of 6 points.. that doesnt scream out at me at a team that i absolutely dont want to play at any point in the season especiall when they lost half of their scoring and their point guard.. UK will suck this year and they will finish closer to the bottom of the SEC.. who on their team is gonna take the leadership role and right the ship? It wasnt surprising last year because we all knew what Bradley and Crawford were capable of

6 points with their chosen style of play is quite a few.

No way, Collison may be the best PG in the country.

if that coach has OSU anywhere near the middle of the pac-10 he should win pac-10 coach of the year.

Northeastern isnt that bad.. they'll compete with VCU this year for the CAA crown..
I saw Northeastern up close against Drexel last year. They are a middle of the pack CAA team. If you're losing to them, God have mercy on your team when they get to Big East play.

Temple still has a hell of a team and is going to be a tough game when we travel to Philadelphia to play them. Don't overlook them because they didn't play well in their opener. Dionte Christmas is an animal.

Nobody's overlooking Temple, i still wouldnt be surprised at all if we lost, i just think we will have a much better chance of winning now

I was thinking the same thing about Northeastern as I reas through the thread. I'm just surprised that was the reason this was dug up.

Still a good re-read though.

but they won't get an automatic. VCU might, if they win out and make a run at a CAA title. Losing to my Monarchs over the weekend hurt their chances at an automatic though.

Yea VCU might, but Northeastern has the same opportunity presenting itself.. VCU doesnt have any better shot at doing so as Northeastern does
