First week of College bball interesting notes...

VCU has an RPI ten spots higher than Northeastern and 2 more wins. They are definitely in better position than Northeastern. Northeastern does have the edge in that they beat VCU. I still maintain that Northeastern has to beat out Wright State, Drexel and ODU to have any shot.

VCU gets Delaware, Nevada, JMU and Georgia State. I still like their chances better.

When you make a run at an automatic bid it doesn't matter what your record or rpi are

Tennessee can deliver that knockout blow with a win this wknd

I know, but everyone else, including us, has failed in this position in the last four seasons or so, including the Gators last week.

It will be tough to do...but, it's possible.

My first SEC Tournament was 2005 - and it looked like a bully-fest with all of the blue. I'd love to see the tables get turned.

yeah, i screwed that up. VCU might get an at large. Northeastern has a little too much work to do to get an at-large IMO.

wouldn't surprise me at all though if George Mason, Drexel, JMU, Hofstra or ODU (fingers crossed) gets hot in the tourney and takes the CAA's automatic. Then it would be interesting to watch what happens to NU and VCU.

PS, I hate VCU.

It wouldnt surprise me if Northeastern did the same.. which is more likely than the other teams

go figure. The team co-leading the CAA is more likely to win the CAA tourney than the mid pack teams. How crazy is that? Hence the reason for my post. The CAA is one of the best mid majors out there. If a team like ODU or Drexel wins the tourney, it will be interesting to see how things go for VCU and NU because some people will consider them for at larges. ODU, JMU, Hofstra and Drexel don't really need to worry about grabbing at larges.

I hate VCU because they were our rival. Monarchs and Rams don't play well together.

I thought it had something to do with Duke.

if K was dumb enough to let him come down the court without a man on him, he deserved to get beat by him. I couldn't care less about that game.

But being an Old Dominion alum, VCU will always be up there on my list of hated teams. Even if Capel coached there.
