Five Bold Predictions

Thanks, Biggles, fixed it. It's been a long day, and I have seen too many coaching carousels during the past few years post-seasons.

No worries, that's why I don't migrate over to the Recruiting forum as I can never keep up with whose who. hoping 5 comes true and they hire someone like Dooley. The last thing I wanted to see is Gus Malzahn anywhere near Florida Gators. We'd never beat them.

Just saying back in the day, they played many other great songs that are no only heard during the pregame show. And the wooing sounds dumb.

I love the woo.....it makes the crowd actually have to sound excited at some point in the song.

  • Tennessee beats Florida
  • Two of Gibson, Settle, and Sweat commit to UT.
  • Worley is our starter throughout the season. Dobbs does show flashes of greatness in his playing time.
  • Scott averages over 6 YPC
  • The Mizzou game is decided by a field goal

Two more months... and six days... and I'm bored. What kind of bold predictions can you guys think up?

With the benefit of a couple of extra days "hindsight", in regards to your predictions...

1. UT will lose to Florida yet again.
2. Will have to be Settle and Sweat because it appears we are no longer recruiting Gibson
3. I can dig it.
4. Scott could avg 6+ ypc, but on how many carries? Probably won't be many
5. Just hope we're the ones kicking the fieldgoal

Here's 5...
1. Bates starts at OLB and is a Frosh AllAmerican
2. Malone is a stud and is SEC Freshman of the year
3. We go to Georgia and win
4. Dewayne Hendrix is a stud with 5+ sacks as a Frosh
5. We win 7-8 gms and play in a good bowl game.

I see your 5 as all very likely. Only thing I would change is lose to UGA and beat OU

To win in Norman will take an absolute miracle.

Now would be a good time to start praying.

Before they started doing it, we didn't need it. And when you do it thirty five freaking times a quarter, it gets stale. Sounds like it is the only song the band plays anymore. So, when UT fired the band director, I thought good riddance. Never thought I would welcome piped in music, but at least its a change from hearing WOO way too much.

Not saying stop it. You all like it, I get it. It's more of a less is more type of thing. Fight, Vols, Fight? Now, that is a song the fans and students need to sing and sing LOUD! Of course, it means actually learning the lyrics, but perhaps we are past just mumbling through most of the alma mater. Actually learning the words might be within our fan's abilities.

Way off topic though. Apologies, all. Back to these bold predictions.

Actually, I am thinking Florida is right about where we were in 2008, and just may be starting down the path we are trying to dig out of. It happens to everyone sooner or later.

TNnative: I love predictions Number 4 and Number 5, because they have so much potential to actually happen. Nailed it, man.

Thanks, BOL. Both may be a pipe dream, but they all depend on the grit and determination of our coaches and players. The main thing both predictions have in common is they will happen in Neyland Stadium. It's time to let the world know this is our house. The one thing that concerns me is fans. My predictions assume they will give their all for Tennessee when they transform our stadiums reputation overnight into the loudest in the land. It can be done.
