Tennessee Volunteers
This will mark the second consecutive season where I've said, "Watch out for hitherto quiet Tennessee," because I figure one of these years that sequence of words has to be correct. No, seriously, the Vols' 2012-13 was dealt a significant blow when Jeronne Maymon was lost to injury in the preseason.

This defense was particularly weak early in SEC play, and by the time Cuonzo Martin's men figured out how to play without Maymon, it was too late -- barely -- to earn an NCAA tournament bid.

Now, with a healthy Maymon joining Jordan McRae, Trae Golden and Jarnell Stokes, Tennessee will have the weapons necessary to compete for "best SEC team besides Kentucky" bragging rights.

Hopefully he's right this year

Do we know for certain that McRae and Stokes will return? They may have announced it, I just haven't paid much attention to basketball lately because of spring football/recruiting. :)

I still bet we get snubbed at Media Day and picked like 8th or 9th (which I'm fine with)

Wish he wouldn't just anoint them reg season SEC champs. I know their incoming class is ridiculous, but Cal can always find a way for them to underachieve.

I don't have a link but I heard Stokes and MCrae are getting draft evaluations...I think that's what they called it. They would have to declare by April 25th. I doubt they will.

The class is historic

Mmmmmmmm, it's a prediction......obviously it has to be settled on the court.

I agree with what you said here but that UK team next year might be as talented as an NBA team or two. They'll continue getting tons of hype from the media and experts during the offseason.

Think the only other class with 4 McD All-America was Michigan right? And KY has 5, right now!? sickk

But freshman have to show they can handle the physicality of the college game before I'm ready to crown them anything. And if we could keep the Poythress attitude in the locker room and game on the court one more year that would help too. :p

Not just 4 HS MD All-Americans, but 4 of the top 10 players period

Which is gonna be interesting to see how 18 year olds deal with...it's gonna be championship or bust for them, thats some pressure.

I've already heard the KY recruits calling for an undefeated season. I think there just getting a little bit too big for their britches.

There'll be a lot of egos on that Kentucky team. That rarely works out well for a team. (See my Lakers with Shaq and Kobe.)

Actually, there are 6 McD coming this year:.

Aaron Harrison
Andrew Harrison
Dakari Johnson
Marcus Lee
Julius Randle
James Young

Still hoping to add Wiggins to the mix.
This means UK will have 3 McDs at least on the bench at all times when you add Poythress and Wiltjer

Hopefully Stokes will stay another year, however, it is supposed to be a weak draft this year.

You mean the Lakers that won 3 straight NBA championships? I think they managed.

Anyways, I still like a team built like ours next year to be tough for a young and inexperienced Kentucky team to beat. Yeah they'll be really really good. But we probably will be too.

I have always thought that Stokes should be a 4 year guy.
