‘23 FL CB Ja’Keem Jackson (Florida commit)

Lol people use so much hyperbole my goodness just relax this is the most stability our staff has had in a long time and they will be well coached… once we do good this year on the field the recruits will come… and we still have a lot of really good players committed we get some we miss some but no one single recruit will stop a program from moving in the right direction… most of Nico’s weapons are already on campus anyway and indications are Ethan Davis has looked the part of a 5 star all summer… let it play out before we turn every thread into a sad thread please.
We need defensive players and elite OL and RBs though and so far this staff hasn’t been able to get either with the exception of Garner, but even he’s fallen flat since landing Pearce. We’ve whiffed on Verse, Burley, Parker, Osborne, and the guy that went to UCLA. Something is going on and it needs to be fixed ASAP

Idk. I would say we’re ahead of schedule honestly. You landed the highest ceiling QB in this class. You’ve got an elite TE in this class and next imo. Mauigoa was a MISS, so was Cobb imo of how the staff feels about him; all those others are replaceable imo with comparable. Some misses are bigger than others, jmo though.
None of those guys are replaceable with what is currently available. Unless it’s through the transfer portal, but nothing our staff has done gives me confidence in their ability to pull elite talent through the portal

I think we miss on Bradley and Seldon too

Seldon really doesn’t have a comparable talent imo based on what I’ve seen this year. Bradley maybe, no way in hell we’re losing an nil battle with SCarolina though.

I think you’re going to see some teams just start to swoop in with fat cash and become a factor out of left field though like Miami did. And I know they had an existing relationship but they weren’t even in FM top three until they got serious with the nil offer.

So nobody knows anything at the moment…. A lot of bvs
Jackson and Matthews were headed somewhere else regardless of anything that’s happened lately. I think you can look back on several peoples posts before FM’s decision. Matthews was always going to be a tough pull. Jackson has always leaned Florida.

Throw this guy Allen, Benson, Cobb, Rojas, Parker, Strozier, and Osborne in there too. So far this class has been very disappointing

And a one and a two......

"Gloom, despair, and agony on me Deep, dark depression, excessive misery If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all Gloom, despair, and agony on me."

I hate missing on players too ALONG THE WAY, but will assess this class when we are done and fill up our 85 from HS and the portal. Was this kid really worth the NIL bid we would have to make? Is it possible, maybe even probable that we can get a bigger bang for our buck by passing on some of these high profile guys? Lots to put into the NIL calculator for our collective. Kind of a bad time to declare defeat or victory on these decisions. Especially in volume.

Respectfully, that's really not true about Miami and Francis. He took took two UVs there - and included them in his Top 13 (which we were not even a part of) before we even got involved. Then he took an OV there. Not saying it was anything other than NIL that won that recruitment, it clearly was, but they absolutely did not come out of left field.

That’s true. They were in the final group but like Florida they weren’t a factor. It was USC vs Tennessee before everything got turned on it’s head.

Damn we missed on all of them and still have a top 8 class currently lol we went 7-6 and haven’t been that good the past 10-15 years… we not gonna get every recruit but the culture coach is building will bring the right kind of players in and they will work… you are obviously a troll I see all your post talking about what we haven’t or can’t do… it’s almost like this staff walked into a dumpster fire and you expect them to turn it into a well oiled machine over night… I hope you still around in December to see if your tone changes or not.

Why do some feel like we have no shot here? Checking out 247, the teammates he's committing on the same with, one is CB'ed to OU, and one is CB'ed to OSU. So it doesn't seem like they're determined to go to the same place.

With Conyer in the boat, we turn our attention to Jakeem Jackson and Jordan Matthews at corner.

We are told that some around Jackson would love to see him in orange but ultimately this will be his decision and Florida seems like they have some momentum at the moment. He will announce on the 28th which is an open period so it will be interesting to see if he makes any trips.

Heading down to Florida, cornerback Jakeem Jackson is still planning on committing at the end of the month. He has told us that it is a two team race between Tennessee and Florida. We have felt that Florida has had the momentum because Jackson’s brother, who ran track at North Carolina A&T for new Tennessee track coach Duane Ross and left that program would likely end up at Florida but then he picked Kentucky. There is a little more optimism there with two weeks to go but this remains very much a toss up in our opinion.
