Mario Cristobal is basically just a somewhat better version of Ron Zook (strong recruiter, mediocre coach). He will lose a few games each year to teams he shouldn't lose to even with a loaded roster and a easy schedule just like he did at Oregon. I am still laughing at how ISU wrecked Oregon and his top recruiting classes lol. He is not a good coach. He makes recruiting fun though. When the season starts Miami will see what I am talking about.

The only question is are you getting your share of guys that you have a legitimate chance to compete.

At the end of the day, I think both Tennessee and Florida for this recruiting cycle appear to be accomplishing that

We hired him because he was, among other things, noted as a very good recruiter who took recruiting seriously. He's shown that to be the case. Although the hope is that he soon will be, he's not currently in the same category of recruiter that Kirby or Saban are.

We need more 4&5 stars. We’ve always had good classes while others have great. Rankings get skewed by total # of commits. The avg. is what’s important. We always hang around 88-89 avg and the elite teams are like 92+.

Because people convinced themselves a month and a half ago that Florida was dumpster fire that would finish with a class ranked in the 50s. Just like they laughed at what Napier inherited on ESD last year and didn't bother to pay attention to how it finished on NSD in February.
