Well this is out of nowhere...

Who else is in the mix? I'm of the opinion Florida, Florida State and Tennessee are three to watch. Robinson has made multiple trips to Tallahassee, Fla., and we hear he thinks much more highly of the new staff at FSU than the old one. Florida once again seems to be recruiting at a high level. If there's an in-state prospect the Gators want, there's a decent chance they'll be a factor. With the Vols, Robinson has a link to defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley. A person close to Robinson coached Ansley in high school.

LOL. I was waiting to bump this if we landed him.

Remember when we thought Pruitt was an elite recruiter? Good times.

It’s odd to me that we had that positive Niebuhr post, your response, then literally nothing else until now.

Usually someone at least posts that they went somewhere else.

Recruiting wasn’t his problem outside of shooting too high and not keeping secondary options on hook.It was running a locker room, coaching staff and on field coaching.
Exactly. X's and O's he wasn't a terrible coach (not excellent but not bad). It was all the other stuff. He just seems to be a jerk so dealing with people (players, coaches, administration and media) seems to be a weakness and what ultimately did him in.

He was flat out terrible in all aspects. Turrible.

He was a terrible coach and is a rotten human. He did poorly in his claimed areas of expertise, and micromanaged areas coached by actual experts. He did more damage to our program and our kids than any football coach we’ve had. No need for nuance on Pruitt. He was a morally bankrupt Dunning Kruger experiment.

Just one day after Marquis Robinson added his name to the NCAA transfer portal, he's now ready to take a closer look at Tennessee. The Auburn defensive lineman told GoVols247 that he's planning to visit the Vols this weekend coming off his freshman season with the Tigers.

A former four-star prospect from Milton (Fla.) High School, the 6-foot-3, 310-pound Robinson appeared in just one game as a true freshman during the 2021 season. He recorded one tackle during Auburn's loss to Georgia on Oct. 9.

Coming out of high school, Robinson was rated a four-star prospect in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, where he was ranked the No. 329 overall prospect and No. 42 defensive lineman in the 2021 class and the No. 51 player from the state of Florida in his class. He was rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports.

He originally announced his commitment to Auburn in August 2020, during Tennessee defensive line coach Rodney Garner's previous stint with the Tigers. Robinson chose Auburn over Florida State at the time, with Alabama, Georgia and others also having extended scholarship offers to him.

I know we lost a number of guys but I still feel like we’re pretty deep at DT/NT. Still, can never have enough.

I wonder if this is one of the ones that were low key set up prior to him actually entering the portal. Would’ve been easy for him to text Hadden and ask if we’d be interested.
