'20 FL Gerald Mincey (UF Transfer)

If they are holding up on this kid, it means they've gotten verbal commitments from a lot of people already and need to make sure they aren't getting a couple more after this weekend.
Honestly I still find a way to get this kid unless he acted like a weirdo on his official. He’s already much further along than a lot of high school talent, strength and conditioning and some experience in the conference already. Just a way higher floor imo for a lineman.

I agree. We just have no idea what's going on inside the building (I don't think the insiders do either). We'll know a lot more after Wednesday.

It is crazy to not take Mincey. The young man has spent 2 seasons in an elite S&C program practicing against Elite SEC talent. Unless he has some strange personality disorder or off the field issues…you take this commitment all day long. Immediate SEC possible starter ready depth of this caliber doesn’t just land at your door step everyday.

Spraggins sits and backs up Carvin. Cooper is the best center on the roster…when healthy.

Spraggins is >>>>> Cooper. So is Carvin. Cooper had better get stronger and lose some baby fat. Wright, Spraggins, Carvin, Cade, and Mincey, Left to Right would be a stellar line. Cooper isn't as good as any of those guys.

Probably doesn't matter. I doubt Cade comes back.

Yeah information is definitely given out a lot less freely. Definitely think we’re interested in him probably just doing some due diligence on him at Florida and making sure the numbers line up and the kid got on social media a little prematurely. Can’t imagine we wouldn’t take him if numbers permit and assuming he has no craziness.

Not at CENTER. If we were comparing them as OG’s? No doubt…but we’re not. All things equal, they’ll get plenty of snaps…we have them!

And I’m going with Cade returning til he doesn’t.

Probably trying to water board that dumb gator chomp out of him. Gators must be cleansed and decontaminated before coming in.

Carvin wasn't a better center, we struggled with tempo and assignments when he was there.

Hope you're right about both. I'm not high on Cooper. His lack of size and strength is a problem and I don't see it improving. I do think the tempo offense helps him some. I'd like to see someone beat him out. And frankly, I think Carvin became better than Cooper at Center and would definitely be better if he starts there in the Spring and it's his main position all year. Might also help his NFL stock.

You’re way underrating Cooper for reasons mentioned above but to add:

Center is the most intelligent position on the line. Cooper is a smart kid and ran that offense better than anyone else, and quicker.

Look at his performance against the MUCH larger Jordyn Davis. Held his own, and will only get stronger next year. Again, smart player, who understands leverage.

Carvin and Spraggins are pure maulers, apples to oranges comparison.

Cooper needs to stay healthy. When healthy, he was hands down the best center, not even a close 2nd

Offense clicked well with Cooper out there. He will continue to get stronger and will be one of the best centers in the conference next year. You don't need to be 310 to be a center, especially in this offense.

No you don’t but it wouldn’t hurt either esp in this league.
