'21 FL ILB Terrence Lewis (UCF commit)

Very odd to hear they're not as high on him now, but I keep forgetting about all the missed camps, evaluations, and even completely missed seasons. It's a strange year for rankings...

Now I'll get flamed for blaming our recruiting problems on covid. :)

Callahan:

This one really has nothing to do with negativity surrounding the program or anything like that, in my opinion. We've said all along he was one of the guys who was still legitimately considering other options and a serious flight risk.

Per AP in the podcast it’s still 50/50 with Lewis could see him back in the class. Said boom or bust type player, could be All SEC or JJ Peterson.

Well since cornbread has failed to develop most of the players on this defense, I'll say bust. He's probably smart looking elsewhere for a coach that isn't going to drive his career into the ground.

He’s not gonna get there being an undersized, underdeveloped 4-3 middle LB at Miami or Auburn.

Terrence was going to most likely play STAR here, which is a hybrid DB/LB. that’s his fit in a college defense. We’re the only school with legit interest that runs that.

And Pruitt has put a ton of LBs and DBs in the league, and one of our current LBs will be a first rounder in 2022. That’s not an issue
Who will be a first rounder in 2022?

Big loss but both Auburn and Alabama message boards are saying he might fall out of the top 100.

Tim Watts (Alabama mod) on his rating
"Yeah, been a mystery to me. Hard hitting kid for sure. But limited physically. Had some college camp testing times that weren't very good too."

I still really want this dude but his recruitment kind of reminds me of Reggie Grimes where a lot of schools are passing on him.

He is still a take, but we were 1 of 2 commit-able offers he had when he committed due to serious off field concerns. I'm talking Janzen Jackson type concerns.

If teams are souring on his on field ability he may end up being some school's "highest ranked recruit ever" and people on these boards will say "I can't believe he chose ___________ over UT, that's how far we have fallen."

Make no mistake, I haven't heard we processed him or told him to look elsewhere, but this isn't exactly a shock. Regardless, I don't think he will spend his entire college career in one place (he is on his 3rd of 4th HS which should be a major red flag for anybody) and I have serious concerns about him being a consistent headache.

AP said that the kid had a not so good year and that the staff had cooled on him.

Said they would still take his commitment but they weren't pushing for it.
But we offered that unrated T from CT that hasn't even played this year....and he has zero other offers.

Writes checks...and balances the checkbook! 🤣

Please stop...

We lost him because we are losing and we look terrible

Nothing I said disagrees with your stance. Just letting you know there is a lot more to this kid that goes well beyond his star rating.

But hey, if you want to just keep posting we suck, that's cool. Adds a lot of value and for that we all thank you.
