VOLS STILL BATTLING FOR LSU COMMIT
Four-star LSU linebacker commitment
DeMario Tolan of Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fla., visited the Tigers over the weekend for the first time in months, taking a second official visit to LSU following its recent coaching change. Tennessee was believed to have some momentum with Tolan going into the trip to Baton Rouge, La. But sources close to his recruitment indicated that the Tigers now are more optimistic about their chances of holding onto him coming out of the weekend.
Tolan didn’t arrive back in Orlando until late Sunday night, and he’s likely to take some time to discuss things with his parents on Monday before arriving at a final decision. Other sources believe the battle for Tolan still might be more of a toss-up between the Vols and LSU, so it’s too early to suggest the Tigers have weathered the storm. But there’s at least enough optimism on LSU’s end coming off his visit with the Tigers to suggest the Vols have some work to do.
