Credit to Napier.
Maybe... they've had bums coach at Florida and they still recruited well. As much as I hate to say it UF is the Tennessee in a ridiculously talent rich state. They'll always get players regardless of the coach.

Mullen was crap at the craft…unless it was a transfer. This guy purposefully passed on commits Mullen left behind and killed it with transfers. Now he’s in the lead for some salty talent. He’s not a “regardless” type imo. He’s a closer.

Killed it is a stretch….. he brought in the Georgia DB that has a lot of potential…. The rest was from his previous school besides the auburn defensive lineman that has been in school 4-5 years with his best season being 11 tackles and Jack Miller.

My opinion my stretch. Not very motivated to give him undue praise. Was happy when it appeared he was flailing.

Unfortunately looking that way… would suck to deal with a recruiting machine in Gainesville right as we’re dealing with two in Athens and Tuscaloosa…. Ugh. They made a huge money commitment though for his recruiting staff and all of that.

Referring to Shark humper and Muschamp... pretty sure Mullen got Copeland, Trey Dean, Kyle Pitts in 2018 and the class had 20 kids with an avg of .9075... the following year they had the #9 class. he did rely on the portal but to say Florida didn't recruit well with Mullen is false.

Then why’d they fire him?

I got classes of #11, #14, #9, #9 and 12. The class he was recruiting was freefalling into the 20’s. They weren’t up to Florida’s standards and even when he landed highly ranked players, many would transfer before playing a game. That’s not “well”…just isn’t.

I'm pretty positive that was the year he was telling people he was going to get a NFL HC job and then it backfired 😆, he all but stopped recruiting and set the stage for the next fall when he got fired.

Never wanted him at UT due to his recruiting and nothing that happened at Florida changed that take. Would have been beyond disastrous in Knoxville. Florida recruits itself so hard to tell when he “stopped”.

Yea he would have been a disaster here. Thank you for agreeing with my initial statement of Florida is Tennessee in a more talent rich state. I'm just not ready to give Napier any title of as a closer or recruiting extraordinaire yet. If he gets classes in the 8-12 range he won't be any different than Mullen on that front.

Not conferring titles at this point. I see a better recruiter than they’ve had since Urban.
