Think it depends on who we play and we are bound to have a night were we slip up to a lesser team.

If we play UK twice possibly split. Florida possible split. Always a tough game with Alabama. Mizzou should still be good along with LSU. Just never know.

How teams do we rotate and play twice? Just 2 right, with Vandy our rival?

Vandy is our "rival". They're the ONLY team we will play each year home and away. They add 4 random teams each season that you'll play home/away as well. Last year they were Georgia, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Alabama.

I'm curious as to the 6 games we lose in the SEC. If we lose 6 we are either getting swept by the good teams, or losing to a couple sh*tty teams.

Say we draw Florida and Kentucky twice, that's 4 games against top 10 teams most likely...hard to count those as wins. Then say we get a bad draw and pull LSU twice and Arkansas twice to go along with Vanderbilt twice and I could very easily see 6 losses.

You have to remember, there's always a slip up or two in conference play, there ALWAYS is. Last year was Georgia and Alabama, we've struggled with ole miss, and it's tough to win on the road in conference. 12-6 in conference would be pretty decent IMO.

Are they randomly picked or rotated like football? Doing it randomly doesn't really make sense.

Highly unlikely we play UK twice since we did last year. We've owned Florida, so we should get one of those. Vandy is kind of a joke right now. Lots of ifs involved, we could get an easy draw just as much as a hard one. Say Auburn, Miss St and A&M. I suppose it'll be easier to predict once the schedule comes out.

Vandy is actually picked by many to be a tournament team, and much improved, so not sue what you mean by they're a joke...

We will likely drop 2-3 that you wouldn't expect, can you name the last time we didn't? That's just the way conference play typically goes, hard to win on the road, and there's a few teams you just don't match up well with. Say you lose 1 to Florida and UK each, and drop 2-3 you wouldn't expect, well now you're right there at 5-6 losses bein likely.

As you say, we may get an easy draw, ill keep my fingers crossed...it'll definitely be easier to predict when the schedule is release next month.

I should have said they were a joke last year, they will improve I'm sure.

True there is always those 2-3 games that leave me puzzled every year. 07-08 we only dropped 2 conference games, and I think 05-06 we dropped 4. So it is possible to not have those games, and this team has the talent to do so. IMO Not saying I'll be unhappy if we lose 6 conference games btw, just hard to see it personally.

Talent wise I'm just really high on this team and expect big things. I understand injurys, Barton jelling, Maymons health etc, factor in. I don't factor in Hubbs cause I feel whatever he gives us will be a bonus. I don't wanna put unfair and unrealistic expectations on a frosh.

Part of me hopes for an easy draw, but part of me hopes the easy draw comes the year after when we are rebuilding a little. Either way I'm ready for some basketball.

I agree. I think a middle of the pack schedule will be fine we need to be tested if we are going to compete in the NCAA tourney. I think this team knows they have what it takes to be special. This bonding and spending a lot of time together proves it.

For real.

I've said it before, but while no game in the first month is a must win, I feel it's close to that for Tennessee with the Xavier game. It will be their first test, it'll be on the road, and will be a nationally televised game as part of ESPN's 24 Hours of hoops broadcast. Tennessee wins that and the road monkey that has often plagued them is off their back early, and it should give them confidence heading to Atlantis.

Not sure that a time has been announced yet, but I would assume it'll be a decent time. Usually west coast teams cover the late night early morning games.

I'll be at that game. Cincinnati is only a hour and 15 minutes away. I can't wait for that.

Heck yea. It's Tuesday November 12th, looking at last years schedule I'm guessing Tennessee will be the 4 or 7 game.

I may try to make it up for that one, not too far from Knoxville.

I wouldn't be mad if it was the 4 game go to the game and still be able to get back to watch the other games.

I could make it back for most of the 9:30 game which is usually the marquee game to end the event.

Exactly. I'm excited for this season hopefully get out to see that game and then come down to Knox for UK or Florida hopefully one of them at home.
