I feel bad for their recruits...today, but in a week or two I'll be ticked again because they will hire someone good, book it. :)

Announced the day after NSD. Wonder how the FLA signees feel? Or is it water off a duck's back after all of the CUM drama?

As long as Urbie comes back, I don't think they'll care very much. These kids seem enamored with him.

what about all those poor high school kids that just signed with Florida? They should be ashamed to wait till after NSD to announce this....(can we get a DT or two from them?)

At least Meyer and Edwards had the decency to wait until after signing day.

I bet quite a few of those blue-chippers are pissed!

And I have no doubt that this was known about prior to NSD and was kept very hush hush.

The business of football is very dirty.

Doubtful any recruits would be mad enough to leave over this. He was the co-DC and the other co-DC, Heater, is still on board.

The only two defensive recruits to commit since Edwards was hired were LB Michael Taylor and LB Darren Kitchens the timing of Edwards' hiring probably meant that he wasn't a factor in landing Michael Taylor either. The remaining defenders committed while Strong was here and stuck it out or committed with no DC in place.

Moreover, no signee lost their position coach as Edwards only position responsibility is inside linebackers and we didn't take any this year.

Love it, I wonder if this was in the works before NSD and they held out on making a decision.

Or better yet, what if they knew it the whole time and just 'announced' him as DC to get a bunch of big time recruits, knowing he'd never coach a down for them.

The guy took a promotion. I don't see how that's "classless garbage". This is a business, not a hobby. Am I pissed as a Florida fan? Of course. Can I blame him for taking the promotion? No, I'm not an idiot.

I think he just meant because he was a Gator. Kidding.

I agree, if anything he waited until after NSD and didn't screw the school. Plus the guy was there for a very short period and doubt he had a big hand in pulling in recruits. Or maybe he did.

so many conspiracy theorists in the world today. He got offered a promotion and he took it. Meyer isn't and never was having an affair, he's not going to the NFL and Florida isn't going away from their recent position amongst the top of college football.

No! Its called money and opportunity to coach in the NFL.

People need to relax on the Meyer front. He isn't going anywhere and is fielding an incredible team. We just need to step up to the plate

I agree! Having the #1 or #2 recuriting class filled with studs tends to ease your stress level just a bit!

yeah hohen i believe UF only picked up 2 defensive players since his hiring so i dont think this will affect the new recruits that much...guess ol Urbs is enjoying his first day of his vacation though :)
