Why? If some prospect of dubious potential from a halfass diploma mill wants to look elsewhere, let him. UT doesn't need to be in the business of begging high school benchwarmers.

totally agree. i hope the new staff proves a lot of people wrong. and i understand us not getting elite talent cause of all thats going on, but this doesn't look good at all.

Considering that we will more than likely suck next year, why not save the scholly for next recruiting class and get a better big man?

It doesn't seem like there are any facts here, just the statement by the HS coach, I don't follow basketball recruiting as much, but this happens often in football. The player says one thing, the coach says another, the family says something else, etc...Before I blame the staff there needs to be some facts.

What do you propose the new staff does to get on top of this?

The Yeti should feel lucky to even get an offer from UT. A *2 non-starter in high school being wishy washy about his only big time offer. He should accept his scholly and (if it was offered) a warm bucket of spit to go along with it.

Might be a case where Griff or somebody jumped the gun trying to get a lead story.
Mike Strange article said there was no UT confirmation.
Anybody hear different.
Seems like they confirmed the next day on chievous.

The coaches can't comment on recruits until they sign a Letter of Intent.
