Flight suites for Pregnant women

A pregnant woman shouldn't even be able to pass a flight physical if ejection is a possibility. I get that ejections are less brutal now, but I remember my brother telling me about a guy in the squadron who had to eject and among other injuries had a broken collarbone. The collarbone break happened when he kicked himself ... obviously not something the human body is normally capable of doing.

I can see them serving through first trimester or so in a Tanker or Transport. I just don’t see it happening for gals in the fighters. I could be wrong though. I am frequently, just ask my wife.

Your avatar would indicate you have expertise in female pilot attire.

If your avatar is one of your copilots, screw retirement, I'm going back to work.

Yeah, but I neither have the street cred, cool factor nor age requirement to score something like that these days. As my wife says, “honey, when it comes to younger women, you have superpowers. You’re INVISIBLE!”

I am completely against building new planes with these special suites just to accommodate pregnant women. Just more waste

No... musical suites... they're adding in-flight stereo. Listening to classical music in the womb is supposed to make babies smarter.

The list for flight suits is growing ... suites may be more descriptive

Heated Flight Suits on Air Force's Priority List for Aircrews

Considering where this suit is to be used, it's not a bad idea. Minot and Malmstrom tend to get a bit chilly in the winter.

I don't see this as a viable option for "combat" use in the field being it's battery powered and with the way thermal imagers are readily accessible these days.

Pregnant women don't belong in the military to begin with. Yep I said that. I also watched first hand as my branch was depleted when the pregnant female sat on ass with no replacement and the guys had to pick up the slack that she caused. And I'll go even farther... if they get pregnant in a wartime deployed unit, they should go to prison. They do know what causes pregnancy, and in the military there is FREE healthcare and zero excuses.

Change my mind.
The **** we put our soldiers through baffles me. Poor kids are going out getting blown to pieces and our military policy is concerning itself with a demographic that has no business in the military

I agree it's great for the intended use. My concern is that somebody loses touch with reality and forgets that if a plane or helicopter goes down, the crew in those suits could be in deep trouble once the battery dies. Passive and active both have advantages and disadvantages, and this one could be a bit like solar energy in a snowstorm if rescue isn't quick. During WW2 many aircraft crew had electrically heated suits and boots - people like waist gunners in a B-24 would never have survived otherwise.

The military is nothing more than a jobs program anymore

Sometimes a risky one. One thing you can say for sure is that the military and defense industries are playing it like a finely tuned instrument. For example, the manpower and cost devoured in trying to keep an F-35 flying for a whole hour is like a whole industry in itself; imagine if we actually needed the thing for defense.
