Florence + The Machine

We saw her at Bonnaroo Hippie Fest 2000 and 11

She was pretty good. She knows where her fans interests lie, at least. She dragged "Dog Days" out for at least 15 minutes. Stopped 3 times in the middle of it to talk to the crowd and then seamlessly would pick right up and keep it going.

I saw her at Roo and was previously unfamiliar but quite impressed. She has a voice that can fill up a farm.

Was quite impressed. Florence has got a set of pipes on her. They could have cut off her mic and she still could have filled the stadium. Ok maybe not, but she has a big voice.

Bono needs to be hit by a train.

They haven't had a song worth a damn since "In the name of love"

I'll assume the "Pride" reference was in jest as they've put out a boatload of good songs since 1984. I do agree U2 has dropped off; all bands eventually do.* But I think their body of work holds up. I can go pretty deep with them on a playlist and I've never even been a U2 guy. I'm rather dispassionate on the subject of U2, truth be told, but I would be a liar if I said I didn't think they had some solid tunes.

*I mean, people LOVE to fellate the rolling stones and I don't think they've put out a decent song in 30 years.
