Kids who grow up in Belle Glades, Pahokee and Immolakee are anything but'"coddled".

It's one of the poorest areas in the country, crime runs rampant and many kids turn to life in the streets.

There aren't nearly enough fathers around to put a foot in someone's butt.

Not justifying any of JC's actions, but to suggest he's some privileged kid is nowhere near accurate.

Never ceases to amaze me when these kids throw away a promising future.

Like CBJ said the other day "We all keep getting older, but these players are all still 18-22, year after year". Glad I never did anything idiotic and completely short sighted at 18-22! :whistling:

Dad. A what? Just guessing, but there's a good probability that this kid never had anything resembling one of those. It's a national crisis and will be our undoing if allowed to run it's course in the good ole USA.

Of course he is privileged - anyone who gets a full ride to play sports at major state university which also often puts people into NFL is clearly privileged. And if he had it tough earlier in life he should appreciate that opportunity even more instead of throwing it away.

Being a privileged kid suggests he did nothing to earn his scholarship, like the dean's nephew getting preferred walk-on status over a more talented kid.

JC Jackson earned his scholarship based on his talent.

And it looks like he'll lose that scholarship based on his stupidity, through actions that are well too common for kids who grew up where he did...far from priviliged imo.

Agreed. Whether it is a Gator, a Bulldog, or a Vol I always hate seeing these young guys make mistakes that will hang around them the rest of their lives.

He'll end up in more trouble or in the fields picking melons, peppers and the like.

Interesting nugget of information about Immokalee football; when I was in HS they predominantly called their plays in Haitian (French) and Spanish due to the majority of their kids being one of those two ethnicities. There was no picking up on audibles at the line for the 11 white, rednecks on our side of the ball.
