Exactly! Some of our fans are not really fans and want to see the team fail. I'm not really sure why.

When we beat UGA next week, trust me the week after, they will be saying how UGA is not really a good win.

There are good wins, and there are "good wins in the eyes of the CFP committee", and those are not always one and the same.

Being honest about that is not 'wanting to see UT fail'.

Good grief! I guess UGA is not that good either - as Florida stayed with them until their QB got hurt.
You're seriously blind if you've watched our body of work this season and think we're playing like a complete team. Nobody's a fair weather Tennessee fan. Nobody wants to see Tennessee fail (other than obvious trolls on this board ) . If you've stuck with the Vols through season after season of embarrassing , idiotic mismanagement and inexplicable blowout losses to mediocre teams , it's safe to say you're here for better or worse. Georgia's inconsistent. Playing them close doesn't make you a good team .

There's plenty of proof out there that we aren't good , not just the transitive examples. BUT we CAN be very good if we get our heads out of our butts and stop making non stop stupid mistakes.
What proof would that be, the top rated defense, SEC's leading rusher, 7-1 record, beating UF and Bama back to back or being ranked #8 in the CFP? Has UT played to their potential on offense? No, but that doesn't make them a bad team. Using your logic the only good teams are Oregon, UI, and BYU. Everybody else might as well stay home and sit out the playoffs. Beck has thrown 3 pics in 3 straight games are they not a good team? OSU only scored 20 against PSU, are they not good? The U lost to Tech today, are they not a good team. UT hasn't played their best game yet but there is no doubt in my mind they can beat anybody in the country.

I didn't say we were a bad team . I said we haven't been a good team overall . We've survived against other struggling teams because of great defense. It's like you didn't really read my comment other than a few keywords . We played pretty well vs Bama , but aside from them we've been hot and ice cold all in the same game. That's not the makeup of a "good team" . As I said we have the pieces to be that.

No, you said there is plenty of proof UT isn't a good team. Everybody agrees they haven't played to their potential, but saying they're not a good team is wrong.

Ok, how about you enlighten us on your proof UT isn't a good football team.
We've been bullied up front on the O line at times , we've had Nico struggle badly at times , we've had WRs that can't catch a cold when he finally does get his head right . We aren't bad, We have lots of skill and talent. We just can't put it all together in one game against anyone with a pulse , outside of Alabama this year. Hopefully tonight is the night it clicks. Again . We can be very good , but our penalties and just lack of composure is making us very mediocre. I guess proof would be Arkansas beating us outright in regulation and we were lucky it wasn't worse.

I focused on UGA because I knew you would say WRs and QB. In SEC play UGA WRs and QB has been worse then UT, yet up to this morning everybody considered UGA to be the best in the SEC . I have seen every O-line in the Conference get bullied one time or another. A sign of a good team is that they can overcome their deficiencies and find a way to win. You don't go 5-1 in the SEC and not be a good team, UT is not a great complete team, but they are a good team.

Ok. You have good points. I'm on board. If we could just stop the majority of the penalties , it'd be hugely in our favor to show out.
