So the back to back national titles notwithstanding . . . an internet message board is somehow indicative of a lack of commitment to basketball?

Lipservice? Dude, you guys need to get a grip. UF dominated the Georgia Dome, and the O'Dome was packed last night. This school is winning at everything, and there are plenty of stories to cover. But, yes, football is king, as it is in most other places. And, rumors that UF did not sell out its Final Four allotment were entirely false.

The title of this thread should be "PLEEEEEEEASE Billy Donovan come take our job"

What I love about this whole UK love affair with Donovan is the fact that, until he caught lightning in a bottle with this group of juniors, his NCAA tournament record was far worse than the guy they just ran out of town.

less than 24 hours after making history as a repeat champion in basketball, Florida Gators Football, Basketball, and Recruiting Front Page and Florida Gators Football: GatorBait.net -- Florida Football are all about spring football and what Urban Meyer had to say about the basketball team.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I'll say it again: Florida fans pay basketball lipservice as something to entertain themselves between football season and spring football practice.

Wow... ostrichs see more day light when their heads are in the sand than you seem to be exibiting...

Florida - 2 basketball championships

For the life of me, I don't see why Donovan would want the job. I'd bet that he leverages his position for some more money and then sits back and waits for a tolerable NBA job.

Also, don't underestimate the impact of making a load of money in a state with no state income tax.

He better strike while the iron's hot. I'll go on record right now as saying that Florida, if Donovan stays, will now return to the underachieving ways they exhibited prior to their current junior class coming to prominence.

I agree with that too. If he does stay, it's got to be for some much bigger guaranteed money. His stock will NEVER be this high again.

If you want to mess with a UK fan, and I'm sure we all do, ask them him this question: "Do you think UK should hire a coach who has gotten past the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament only twice in the past seven years?" When they say "Hell, no," tell them that eliminates Donovan.

By the way, Tuesday night's direct private flight from Gainesville to Lexington turned out to be a hoax. :eek:lol:

What is it with delusional fanbases tracking phantom private flights?

I have done my best to explain this to my UK bretheren to no avail.

You guys are missing the point. Internet sites give the fans what the fans want. What the fans want is more football, followed by a side-dish of football smothered in football.

Come on, don't you think it a LITTLE bit humorous that less than 24 hours after winning the NC, they're back to football?

You are correct. It is humurous and true. It just looks desperate coming from a Catfan.

You should know by now that I'm not you're average, desperate Catfan who lives and dies by every secret charter flight that comes in and out of Lexington.

:p

And the Kansas people thought Roy would never go to UNC! Enough money and Donavan goes to Ky. or they get someone equal or better!

For you Kentucky haters, the Cats will be back.
