Florida is NOT a dual-sport school

This whole thread is simply a case of "loser denial."

Maybe the fans in Gainesville have no need to dwell on the past. They won their second straight NC in basketball and have now moved on to the task of winning their second straight NC in football.

If you want to mess with a UK fan, and I'm sure we all do, ask them him this question: "Do you think UK should hire a coach who has gotten past the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament only twice in the past seven years?" When they say "Hell, no," tell them that eliminates Donovan.

What coach is hotter in the NCAA tournament than Donovan over the last 10 years?

Donovan going to Kentucky would be no better a choice than him staying at Florida. I think hat's assessment about Billy D staying in Florida is correct, then you have to deal with the nutjob fanbase in Lexington.

The only hope Billy D has of having continued success is to go to a high-level NBA team where he can have long-term success as a GM's puppet... ERM "head coach."

Why subject yourself to that pressure when he can make millions at a football school. Really, ask any gator fan which one they would rather have and they would say a football championship in a heart beat

Not flat out disagreeing but to GAvols point on page 1, would'nt a salary bidding war between UK/UF up his stock as a future NBA coach? Hasn't Roy Williams shown that a higher salary leads to higher salaries?

What's the point? College coaches to the NBA fail, for the most part.

I keep hearing that but I'm not sure it's the college coaches that fail as much as it's the coaches that take over crappy teams that fail.

That's the point Cal made on Rome Is Burning today. He's 100% correct. The Bulls teams Tim Floyd coached could have had Red Auerbach, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, and Bob Knight as a coaching staff and they would have been awful.

I was going to answer that, but...

He nailed it.

Must suck to be the guy after MJ.

All of this keeps lending to the fact that the NBA is a league for the front office, and for the players. A coach can only be as good as the talent his front office gets him. Coaches in the NBA and NFL aren't coaches, so much as personnell managers IMO.
