Ole Miss has histroically played good defense at home. I was impressed by their offense. I knew we would be the guinea pig who had to play UF first and all the other SEC teams will learn off our mistakes. Every week the SEC will get closer to figuring our Tebow's anticks and knock them off sooner or later....Auburn, maybe LSU someone will.
Ole Miss looked like they wanted the W and The Vols played like ole ladies from the local nursing home...
I think there was quite the difference of playing in Oxford comapred to Florida....home game, recruits there, the pageantry of the Tennessee game, rivals, stoked up for the first SEC game for Tebow....not even compare....if Ole Miss would have been in Gainesville last week and played the geeked up team we did, the score would have been the same for them. Ole Miss doesn't deserve that much credit.
You're right, and I think their minds (the coaches) were more focused on the other games down the road. And weren't doing enough to keep a young team grounded after a huge win.
Can you blame them though? 3 consecutive road games:
LSU
Kentucky
UGA

Kentucky, any other year would be a reprieve, but not this year! You're right.
On the other hand, overhyping UF and Tebow based upon a beatdown of the Vols is an even larger mistake. Unfortunately for you, UF has still beaten 4 pathetic squads and only one of those on the road. Your D is still pathetic and great D is the hallmark of great teams.Ole Miss played one of their best efforts in years, the Gators had 120+ yards in penalties, on the road, and Florida still won. If you think this game means that Florida is overrated, you're on serious drugs.
Ole Miss had a number of big plays. Their TD drive to draw within 3 late was made up of one good running play (with excellent blocking and catching Florida in a poor stuffing defensive scheme), followed by a hail mary that had about a 3 % chance of working.
Ole Miss was liek that all day long -- not so much sustained drives as just the occassional giant play, usually with about 70 yards tacked on by Florida penalties.
The one place I do give Ole Miss credit for is that they played a very attacking defense against Florida and it worked. They blitzed a ton and our O-line did not handle it well at all. I do believe that Florida will learn from that and be in a better position when they go to LSU.
At any rate, just wanted to be clear that the score of that game should not mislead anyone, though as I see we dropped a spot to OU in the rankings, it has already done so.
