Florida QB commit who lost his scholarship offer because he said the "N" word, now holds offer from HBCU

Pretty crazy that prestigious university down in the dumps revoked a scholarship for what a person sang but allowed a murderer to play on the team. Times have really changed.

Way too much money and political gain in keeping people divided as well.

Well said. In just about every aspect of our society, it’s all about stoking division and tribalism - i.e. “my side is always right and if you don’t agree with me, then you are my enemy”. No dialogue, no discussion or debate for understanding and growth - just pure sticking fingers in the ears and shouting.

As the other poster said, the closest we’ve got to a unified aspect of society is sports and I feel like that’s in a precarious position at times as well.

I have so many questions

It was more or less a BS scholarship revocation by Florida. They were going to try to dump him anyway after Rashada committed and used this as an excuse. Kind of a scummy move by Florida.

All he did was sing some rap lyrics with the n-word. Lack of awareness on his part for sure, but he apologized for it. No one legitimately thinks the kid is some sort of racist.

HBCU coaches realize it was BS and they aren't going to have to deal with the same dumb politics as other schools to bring him in. Smart move.

The HBCU rescinded the offer already, and then apologized for extending the offer 😂

This just in…UF took Marco Rubio’s son as a preferred walk on.

5-10, 175 lbs of grittiness and guttiness, coming to the 4th quarter of a spring game near you.
You left off Gym rat, great in the film room, grinder, outstanding leadership skills. Mom was also Dolphins cheerleader. Future walking Gainesville drinking ticket followed by question “Do you know who my father is”?

They didn't know he was a murderer at the time. Just saying, but it does make me think of the guy whole told me he knew O.J. Simpsons password. Backslash, Backslash, Backslash, Escape.

I’ve seen that drunken “Do you know who my father is?” play out poorly on one occasion way back when I was a UF student.

Some drunken frat douche was groping and hitting on the wrong dude’s girl at a party. He got confronted by the wrong dude and his crew, then immediately played the “Do you know who my father is?” card.

Wrong dude responded by asking…and I’ll never forget this…”Do you know WHERE your father is?”, then proceeded to deliver a beat down of epic proportions before the kid could answer.

Good times.
