Some of yall might have more information than I do so please do share as I'm aslo hoping to learn what exactly is going on. I read that one of Florida's QBs transfered and the other signed with the Red Sox. Can someone elaborate on this one for me? TIA!

He, Driskel, is still attending and will play QB at UF. The baseball thing is a back up plan for him.

He will play, and is not transferring from UF.

Driskell signed with the Sox but can (and as far as I've seen will) still play.

@jeffdriskel: Yes I signed with the Red Sox. Nothing changes. I am still a full time student athlete at UF, fully committed to playing football. #GoGators

Watch this as it plays out. Reminds me a little of the Russell Wilson situation at NC State. Russell missed spring practice and summer workouts playing baseball.

The Sox will want Driskel to play some baseball in the summer, which will start cutting into football practice/prep time. If Driskel is as good or better at baseball, I would go chase that dream because of guaranteed money without the physical risk. JMO.

Driskel was a hell of a baseball player in HS. Smart move. Bc the guy doesn't look like an NFL QB.

Fark anything to do with Florida! Why should any Tennessee Fan even care if they have a QB

It does become kind of pointless to care about the name of the Florida QB that beats Tennessee every time. Remembering the names of the ones we actually beat would be a lot easier.

Would it not really depend on his contract? I am sure they have something protecting them from his sign on bonus if he is hurt playing FB. I bet his days of running the option read are done.

You are wrong on every part.

Pretty much...no different than Chris Weinke, Doug Johnson, Brandon Weeden or Russell Wilson.

When Driskel fails to show up for fall practice in Gainesville I'll worry. Until then some of you are hoping against hope.

Signing with the Sox just means they have the rights to Driskel correct? They won't pay him anything until he reports to camp or to the team right?

I never really understood how that worked.

It's only a direct quote from the guy...but yeah, it means nothing.

Let's rely on your expert opinion, along with the OP who's also in desparate need of a clue. :eek:lol:

This^ I'm guessing anybody that never played sports can't relate.

I've played sports my entire life, including college baseball and football at a DII school.

Nothing is different. If you're worried about getting injured in your "lesser" sport, then you don't need to be playing. If you aren't playing to the best of your ability then you are a liability to the team.

I agree that some people have never played sports and can't relate.

If you're good enough to be playing college ball in multiple sports on any level, play them all. You won't be playing both for long one way or the other.

Come one now...you know Driskel is gonna curl up in the fetal position whenever he thinks a blitz is coming.
