Yea and how many contracts you got?
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel could take a swing at another sport.
Driskel announced Thursday that he has signed with the Boston Red Sox, who selected him in the 29th round of the Major League Baseball draft last month, but said he is committed to finishing his college career with the Gators and pursing an NFL job.
Driskel says in a statement, "After my college football career is over I want to pursue a professional career in the NFL. If I ever decide I want to play baseball, I want to play with the Boston Red Sox who drafted me in the recent draft."
Driskel has thrown for 1,794 yards and 12 touchdowns in two seasons, one as a full-time starter. The junior from Orlando also set a single-game school record for rushing yards by a quarterback (177).
Driskel indicated on Twitter the day he was drafted that Boston's selection of him was a surprise. After once considering playing both sports in college, now he will be ineligible to compete in baseball. But that's probably fine with Gator Nation.
On his Twitter account Thursday, he attempted to put Florida fans at ease by saying, "Yes I signed with the Red Sox. Nothing changes. I am still a full time student athlete at UF, fully committed to playing football. #GoGators"
Thinking guys that have been in sports their whole lives are going to suddenly play not to get hurt all the time might be some of the stupidest BS I've seen on this board. Guys don't get to that level playing to avoid injury. They're too competitive.
Thinking guys play like that is the indicator that someone has never played any organized sport. Nobody thinks about injury on the field.
So you think that Hunter played at 100% this past year?
I don't think he was recovered from his injury. There's a massive difference between throwing in the towel because you're afraid to get hurt due to a contract and not being mentally recovered from blowing out your knee. You'd have to be a third grader to not understand that.
Yes cause no player has every thought of his or her self before a team.
Have you played any sports beyond elementary school rec league?
Even the guys who only think for themselves are out there doing the best they can because there's a different level of drive in high level athletes. They are too competitive.
Is that so. So every team or player that you watch is giving there best all the time? Get out of here dude. You haven't played a sport of watched one. How many of those high lvl players over look another team or lay down when there losing? And no it's not the same as giving your best if your out there only for own benefit.
