Florida Republicans do not have free speech

How on earth is this a free speech issue? Linking this to the TP and hypocrisy via their focus on the constitution is a monumental stretch.

well, LG is the OP. Hyperbole and monumental stretches of logic are his forte.

Ironic that the Tea Party, which considers itself to be so "constitutional" in its interests, is working so hard to squelch free speech.

Not a free speech issue. That said, it is a fascinating example of how the GOP is now being driven by the right fringe.

Charlie Crist shouldn't have been palling around with Obama and maybe, just maybe he wouldn't be in the shape he's in right now.

What's going on here is this: any Republican who does not knee jerk screech at the top of his lungs that Obama is a socialist and an illegitmate president is to be labeld a traitor and an outcast.

Take a look at what's going on with McCain in Arizona, or with Crist here, or with Lindsay Graham. If you show the slightest inclination to bipartisanship with this president, then as far as the Republicans are concerned you are RINO and to be unelected as soon as possible.

Par for the course for a party that is now clearly being run by the ideologues.

what a crock. How about anyone who even remotely supports federalized healthcare, stimulus packages and such doesn't deserve any consideration by any group raising funds based upon less government and less spending.

Sad they feel the urge.
Figured that one on my own.

Why weren't you screeching about free speech when Dems threatened their own to vote for the HC bill? When the DNC threatened to not support them in re-election campaigns if they didn't vote correctly?

That wouldn't have fit the whole convenient indignation shtick.

Did you actually read these? One gets the impression you ran a search through Google and just cut and paste whatever seemed to come up.

Read them.

Not remotely analogous.

You're not pretending that the WH was above threatening 2010 candidates by withholding campaign support?

Link?

I have provided evidence that the GOP is, ACROSS THE BOARD, attacking within its own party anyone not deemd to be rabid anti-Obama loon. To be safe, you have to be a birther, shoot all the Mexican aliens, Obama is a socialist nutjob.

If you stand up during the State of The Union and cal the President a liar, you are a hero.

If you are rational and want to get things done and come up with policy through hard work and negotiation with the Dems, you are a giant puss.

If you are a Republican elected governmental official and you say you think one of the pusses is an okay guy and you might endose him, you are ousted form the party.

I've listened to you guys for awhile tell me that you think the Tea Party is fringe and not representative of the GOP. You have written countless times that no one takes Beck or Hannity or Coulter seriously and recognize that they are entertainers. You claim that the "real" GOP is focused on balancing the budget and moderate reforms in a number of areas, not Draconian return to 18th century mores.

The evidence is to the contrary. By a landslide.

For future reference, you suck at analogies.

And congratulations. You're the new gsvol.

read them - yes

Google search - yes, should I have used Bing?

cut and paste - not sure what you mean.

The WH "prioritized" where they would campaign saying those that voted for HC would be the highest priority.

MoveOn actively called out fence sitters.

It was and is clear that fence sitters were threatened in any number of ways to tow the party line.

You have become exactly what you complain about - a hyperbolic partisan making mountains out of molehills. Congrats. :hi:

You guys may not be members of this movement of TP rabid extremism.

I'm just saying that yours is not the wing in charge.

Actually, I've been thinking about this and will say that I wish that the likes of bham, droski, and BPV were representative of GOP leadership. I think the reality is that gsvol is more in line with the folks pulling the string right now.

Its not fair that I chastise the rational folks for being unable to defend their extremists any more than it is fair that I be derided when I can't defend Sharpton's rants.

I wonder if he goes into an involuntary lapse of rambling in the court room, and then the room looks at him and says.....
