An economics professor I have who studies Vegas lines like he works there thinks the game is rigged in Miami's favor.

His reason being that FSU'S -2 Line is moving in Miami's favor despite more people betting on FSU. This only happens when Vegas is anticipating a massive upset. An example? Texas vs WVU last week, it happened for that game. Texas won. Florida vs Miami last year, happened for that game. Miami won.

He says due to the big shake ups in the SEC, the powers that be want FSU out so another SEC team can sneak it's way back in.

He went on a lot more, but I don't have time to write it all. it's a very intriguing theory.

If Florida State loses, then don't forget this thread

Because Vegas knows a lot more than we do, that's why they never lose money.

Bingo. I've said for years that the National Championship matchups and story lines are manufactured. Look at 2008, Florida AND Bama got extremely questionable late calls that saved both of them from losses and in my opinion to keep them undefeated for a 1 vs 2 SEC title game. Happened to Texas the following year in the Big 12 championship game, refs gave them an extra second to kick that field goal. Happened with Auburn and the questionable circumstance around Cam Netwon, hottest thing in football at the time and you can bet money the NCAA wasn't going to sit that cash cow. This is only really something I've noticed in the BCS era, though I'm sire you could find plenty of examples.

Uh Florida wasn't undefeated in 2008, lost to Ole Miss. As far as Texas and the big 12 title game go, there clearly should have been a second left on the clock, Nebraska didn't get screwed.

And what late calls did Florida get that helped them win games? After the ole miss loss their scores were:
38-7
51-21
63-5
49-10
42-14
56-6
70-19
45-15
I kinda doubt favorable calls made the difference.

Didn't the same thing happen with Louisville and FSU? I think a lot of people just think FSU is due for a loss somewhere.

Hmmmmm ....

This has all the earmarks of another FSU conspiracy "everybody is against us" theory. Their fans, even their coach, have claimed that the coverage of Winston's various problems is all some sort of effort to undermine FSU because everyone is jealous of their success. I've heard some pretty irrational, borderline paranoid, arguments expressed by them to justify this theory.

Your source seems to be making an excuse, in advance, to deligitimize any FSU loss Saturday. Seems tobe saying it is set up for them to lose. He wouldn't happen to be an FSU fan, would he? Or at least a fan with some kind of interest in FSU continuing to win?

Tell you what, if you want to know for sure, just find out how Jameis is betting the game.

Or maybe it's because Miami has played like the best team in the ACC over the last month? Nope, couldn't possibly be that.

FWIW my professor is a Clemson fan.

Yes, and all the coaches, players and universities are on board. The Championship goes to the highest bidder. Give me a break.
