Based on what others were saying about Cain, I went to check his stuff out, listened to a bunch of his campaign speeches, etc. No go for me, unfortunately.

why?

what did you see that made you not like him?

I personally think Perry is a tool. Bachman needs to leave.

I honestly like Huntsman alot but I don't think he has a good chance.

I find someone who focuses on using cute phrases, stupid word plays, etc. as much as he does to be incredibly annoying and I generally don't trust their ability to get it done off the campaign trail.

As for Huntsman, I agree - I like him a quite a bit. He doesn't seem to be gaining any traction, but I could get behind him.

I wish Gary Johnson was getting a better chance. Don't agree with him on everything, but I do agree about 75% which is about 40% more than the two leaders.

I can see that but his being chairman of the fed in his state in 1996 says alot to me, that and turning around godfather's. If he gains traction, I wouldn't mind him and Rubio for VP.

This simply confirms that straw polls are useless!

Not so sure about this one.

Cain is gaining ground.

I'd vote for him and think he'd be great as long as he is truly healthy.

I like everything about Gary Johnson. But he was never taken seriously by the media, and that really seems to be driving the GOP primary race.

It's been pretty sad to see the national media choosing the two fighters for the main event. Just goes to show the problems with uneducated masses.

If you look at the straw polls and you look at who is "leading" per the media they aren't the same.

The only two straw polls I'm aware of are Bachmann's win and Cain's win. Surely you don't think either of them is a more viable candidate than Romney or Perry.

I'll do an LG stretch. Cain has a 9-9-9 plan. He's black. Republicans hate blacks so Cain is a backwards candidate. Therefore his plan is 6-6-6 and he is the anti-Christ. Floridians are Satan worshipers. It's pretty obvious.

He is up near the top with me.

If you only know of two polls, you've missed a few.

GQ, I think, had a great article about Gary Johnson this last issue. Great guy. If I believed in his fiscal ideology, then he would definitely be the one I'd vote for.

Herman coCaine for President!

He has no shot, so at least I'd like to see him as a VP candidate.

Cain nearly quit campaign before Florida straw poll, calls Obama a ?liar? | The Ticket - Yahoo! News

I asked him about President Obama's new effort to raise taxes on the wealthy, and Cain just about blew a blood vessel--especially when I mentioned the part where Obama says it's about "math" not "class warfare."

"Can I be blunt? That's a lie," Cain said, before the sound of his voice began to rise noticeably higher. "You're not supposed to call the president a liar. Well if you're not supposed to call the president a liar, he shouldn't tell a lie. If it's not class warfare, it's highway robbery. He wants us to believe it's not class warfare, oh okay, it's not class warfare. Pick my pockets, because that's what he's doing!"

Cain paused, took a breath and looked at me.

"I'm not mad at you, I just get passionate about this stuff," he said. "I have to tell people because I get so worked up . . . . I'm listening to all this bullshyte that he's talking about, 'fairness' and 'balanced approach' to get this economy going."
