Don't forget that season ticket holders are paying a donation before being allowed to buy season tickets.

Although, to help your argument about upselling to opposing team's fans...were you in Bridgestone when the "Boos" came to town last yr? Miserable experience. My wife is actually the one that got me hooked on hockey about 2 years ago and we've been going to games and watching it ever since. I've always had great seats for the price I pay as well.

I only make it down for games about 3-5 times a season. My 11 year old son plays and we've turned into big fans of the sport. Wasn't there for the game your talking about, but my wife and I were there last year to see my Blackhawks (I'm a Hawks and Preds fan...I know that's crazy) when it was about 50/50 Hawks/Preds fans. That was interesting but without any incidents I believe. They were actually playing the Blackhawks goal song at one of the bars on Broadway before the game because there were so many Blackhawks fans. I've always got my tickets through a rep in the Preds office and have always gotten great seats for every game I've been too. We've seen Crosby, Ovechkin, Toews/Kane, etc in that arena and have even got to meet Kane, Joe Thornton (sons favorite), and others stars while attending games. Preds games are great experiences and if you can get hooked up with a ticket rep in the office they can fix you up with great seats without the service charges ticketmaster charges.

Very aware of this and that's why I've never had a problem buying tickets from season ticket holders. Technically, it goes against the term "donation", but I don't fault folks for wanting to get some of their money back when they aren't using the seats. It's the scalpers that buy for cheap or face value and then screw people that bothers me. Wish we would be like some states and crack down on ticket scalping. I know some performers are proactively trying to fight against the scalpers by making you pick up premium tickets at will call 1 hour prior to the show. The wife and I got pit tickets for Eric Church next month and cannot pick them up until right before the concert. :good!:

With craigslist, you gotta wait till the last minute. Day of people will want to drop the extras and party. See it all the time. Or you can buy now, like they say, there's a sucker born every minute! I'll be in section O, aisle seats.

Vary by location. Some are 250.00 & some are 500.00. Between the 20's can be 4 figures. West club are more than East Club & are 5 figures. Skyboxes are over 6 figures.

Yup, it's insane. I luckily got season tickets without the donation in EE this year (non-priority of course), but since there's excitement about UT football again, I went ahead and got priority season tickets for 2015 & beyond in QQ for $50 each

About how much?

I'll give a real life example (me):

Section V, one pair of seats is a $5,000 annual donation plus the cost of the tickets (and I get to pay for parking passes...)

If I can't use the tickets, I attempt to sell them above face value. Sometimes I'm successful, sometimes not. Over the past several years? Well, not much success.

If I do get over face value, the extra money is put aside and used to make a portion of next year's DONATION. I've never 'made' enough $$ above face value to cover my donation amount...but it helps.

I know there are a lot of scalpers...but there are many folks like me. A donator. I pay most of the donation myself, but unknowing buyers (often opposing teams' fans) who pay above face value are actually making a donation to the university, too.

Exactly this.

I've been unable to find tickets too and I check multiple times a day. Thing I'm noticing is that these tickets aren't selling at those crazy prices because they're still on there day in and day out, and some are starting to drop a bit. I won't pay over $150 for a low bowl ticket unless its outstanding seats. I've always been able to get a good pair in the north endzone for $250. I hope we beat UGA, but if it don't happen, then these ticket prices are going to drop majorly. If we do win...they can't go up much because they're already overpriced, and unless you're rich, most folks can't afford to pay those prices.

One side note... The absurd ticket prices scalpers ask is one reason you see so many opposing fans in Neyland. It's beyond sad that so called Vol fans would rather sale their tickets to a Gator, Dawg, or Crimson Tide fan to make more money. These folks are not true Vol fans! Neyland still gets loud, but it's not near the atmosphere it was back in the 90's. A lot more opposing fans in our stadium than there was back then. Hell Bama took over Neyland 4 years ago. That was by far the saddest sight I've ever seen at Neyland Stadium. I don't know about you folks, but I wish they would crack down on ticket scalping and start giving citations or arresting the scum ripping folks off on gamedays. Maybe one day they will get a real job! Probably living off the government and trying to make money on the side. That's what our nation has come to.

This ha been a problem for years. UT fans are more dollar oriented than team oriented. You never see it as much in other SEC stadiums.

My dad's tryin to get rid of 2 tickets to the Florida game. My dang sister is getting married that day. She's definitely not a VFL. But, if anyone is interested, they're in section Y9. Row 14. Seats 13 & 14.
$250 for the pair.

I'm definitely interested

Like someone said earlier, there's still tickets available from the ticket office $80.00 plus fees. Not great seats, but anyone who's wanting to get there on the cheap can grab them there.

Wait til next season when the Vols will be better, expectations will be higher, get OK at Neyland, home @ LP field vs UAB, home vs Georgia and USC. Even vandy tix may go high if we are having a good season.
