Sort of a semi-controversial opinion, but I do think in terms of recruiting, Georgia is the #1 or maybe #2 job in the nation. Obviously, Texas, Florida, and California are loaded with talent, too, but unlike Florida, Georgia is not competing with two other major in-state programs (Miami and FSU), as well as a handful of good mid-major type programs (UCF and USF). Same deal with Texas, which has to compete with A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech, and TCU within its own borders. Likewise, USC has UCLA, Stanford, and Cal in the same state.
Not to downplay the advantages of Florida, Texas, and USC. Merely to suggest that a lazy and lackluster coach at those schools can still lose out in recruiting to in-state rivals. At Georgia, you almost have to go out of your way to botch recruiting. LSU and Ohio State are in similar situations, but outside of those schools, it's difficult to think of too many programs with that type of advantage.
