Sorry to take up two posts, but I have a question about the SEC race.

For UT to jump UF:

Assuming you guys win out, would Florida have to lose two SEC east games? Or just two SEC games in general?

After the LSU/Auburn game I thought LSU and Auburn could handle Florida pretty easily.

After last week's Auburn/SC game I'm not so sure. SC didn't play well when they opened the season struggling to beat Miss. St. I wasn't expecting SC to give Auburn much of a game. It was clear after that game Auburn's very beatable. I assume LSU then is to.

I wasn't that impressed with Florida after the UT game. They only put up 21 pts against a UT defense that was beat up. I'm expecting another low scoring game something like 13-10, I'm hoping LSU.

With Wynn out for UF, taking away some of the balance on offense, I definitely think the LSU D is up to the task. I regurgitate at the notion of UF being a championship team, but I remind you that all championship teams have close calls - but survive them. Another thing that worries me about UF and their chances of winning out is that championship teams seem to benefit from so many of the chancy things, i.e. deflected balls, frequently being the benefactor of bad calls, etc...luck seems to follow them alot, and I'm not suggesting it is mostly luck...they are definitely a strong team.
That said, I think UF is most definitely beatable, and it may as well start this Saturday. I'm picking LSU in an oddly defensive battle. Boy, wouldn't it have felt so much nicer right now if Bama had beaten the Gators?:shakehead:

LSU scores early and they score often.

Chris Leak chokes on the hype yet again.

I live in Baton Rouge...all my local golfing/drinking buddies are LSU fans.....I am cheering for the TIGERS on Saturday and hoping their Neyland record is 1-12 after Nov 4th....I will be there.

Unfortunately he's being replaced by their best running back, Tim Tebow.

:p
I can't believe the Urban Cowboy would put his little ace in the hole out there for the LSU defense to break his legs....

Guys, look at the results and you will see a lot of wishful thinking. Quite honestly I don't think UT will run the table and jump over Florida even if LSU wins this weekend.

Regardless, with Wynn out (I didn't know that was official), Leak will have very little time as the Tigers will pin their ears back on him and LSU definitely has a better defense than UT.

Russell for LSU is playing better than Ainge from a numbers standpoint and has been very accurate, don't know much about their running game.

I pick Florida, unfortunately, with the hopes that they trip up against Georgia and Auburn.

Tebow will play and will do great against the LSU Tigers D. He is an exceptional player and a fine young man who is a dynamic Christian. Besides that he is a horse of a player. The saddest thing about Timmy is he didn't become a Vol!

how awesome would it be if auburn and lsu beat florida

If I was forced to bet money on it I would say UF loses both those games. Not because I want them too, but because both those teams are better than them. A good bit better than them.

lots of wishful thinking goin on here =)

Truly.

LSU will beat the gators and open up the east

This being proof of the above statement by SWIL.

I would not bet the house on that. Its about to get colder.

If you are a true UT fan you have to pull for LSU. Florida has to lose at least 2 games for UT to have a chance and UT has to win out. So, I hate to say Go TIGERS! LSU and Auburn!

I don't know much about how Florida has played this season, apart from the UT game. But I'd bet the house, cold or not, that Florida loses at least one of these two games.

I thought he said he'd bet that we lose both and I think it would be a foolish wager given all the unknowns still in play.

Look, I don't know who will win on Saturday because, like you with UF Atreus, I don't know all that much about LSU. All I can say is that Florida is pretty good and we have the game at Florida Field, which is surely an advantage. So I give us a good chance to win.

Once we see what happens this Saturday, that will give us all a better read on our chances at Auburn, though of course that game is on the road.

I will be at the game this weekend, by the way. First in about five years. And Ebay gets a little bit richer ...

I will be saying "Go Tigers" and "War Eagle" for the next 2 weeks.....Only if UT wins this week will I be cheering for Auburn next but I see us beating the Pups and coming home this weekend with a chance at winning the SEC East

Shoot, even if the Vols lose this week, I'll still cheer against Florida next week. :)

Maybe this was already mentioned but can any UF fan tell me why Marcus Thomas suddenly had his suspension lifted? It seems convenient that the initial suspension came over a month after he failed the drug test timed AFTER the UT game and suddenly he is reinstated BEFORE the LSU game....conspiracy theorists of the world unite.
