Footage of Dollander’s injury?

If Dollander is out, I don’t think Tidwell is stretched out enough to go too long. Maybe you start him on one of the weekend games, but only pitch him 4 or 5 innings, then put Sewell in.

Or maybe next weekend is when Halvorsen makes his debut. Combine Blade and Seth as one weekend “starter.”
Is halvorsen throwing?

My guess is Dollander may be lost for the year. That looked like it was solid contact with the elbow, hope I'm wrong about it. What would be interesting to know is what did Anderson say that got him tossed, same with Vitello. As for the hitter intentionally hitting Dollander, when you swing a bat and make contact with the ball, it's up to physics at that point. I'll have to watch a replay of the game to see if it's possible to hear what the Alabama dugout chatter was. If they were being classless, as I suspect, I think both coaches had a legitimate complaint about the things being said. Tony protecting his guys, totally get that. I hate he will get a suspension, hope the conference office doesn't try to make an example of him.

Maybe the conference should investigate what led up to Tony's action.(not that I feel he will get away without "time off") BUT and this is a big but, he was not even talking to the ump involved the trouble with Anderson. (had already turned away from him) This guy was the 3rd base ump to begin with. Did he hear the Bama reaction to the injury and know " this is trouble" and that's what got him in the fray? Where was the crew chief of the ump team, he should have gotten in the middle of the mess and backed his fellow ump out of the mix. I expect if/when this ump's behavior is examined Tony's reaction will come to light. (not that it will make any difference, he will be out for awhile) But what about this ump? Seems he needs to be brought down a notch or two.

That is not what instigated the flare up.

gump batter tried to call time while Chase was going into his motion and stepped out of the batters box... home plate ump did not call time
Chase threw a ball but @peerless98 posted that when the batter backs out of the box it should have been called an automatic strike (which would have been a back'ards K and the end of the inning since there were already two strikes).
Next pitch hit back at Chase.... that pitch should have not been thrown if the home plate ump had called the back out of the box pitch a strike.

You actually wrote the same thoughts that I had after I posted my other response. I wondered if that ump was the crew chief, since he seemed to take charge. I wonder what Anderson did or said to get ejected in the first place. The highlights I saw showed someone other than the ump Anderson was talking to give him the thumb. I wonder what the ump said to TV that set him off enough to respond in a way that would get him ejected. I question if that ump is really someone who should be umpiring baseball games. Seems he may have a Napoleon complex.

Lol at this dumb account implying we were mad because the batter hit Dollander on purpose. If you could have that type of accuracy with your bat, you wouldn't need to hit pitchers in the arm :p

In competitive softball its called hitting the box. It's a no-no. But, some players intentionally do this. Especially if they were having trouble getting on or to get back at the other team. I was playing A Ball in USSSA and saw a pitcher get hit between the eyes even after he backed into his defensive position half way to 2nd. If you've got good bat control you can do this even in baseball. If you watch the swing, he opens up kinda drag buntish. Softball you walk the box and shoot it up the middle. He could have been an attempt to hit the pitcher intentionally.

Total BS. This ain't softball. Hitters are taught from an early age, when you are down in the count or facing a dominant pitcher, look to drive the ball up the middle, not to hurt the pitcher but to try to put the ball in play.

This isn’t softball

Like I said before, I didn’t read whatever the tweet was. I was just trying to find video of the ball hitting Dollander. So disregard whatever they typed into the tweet.

Need to go back and rewatch. The kid that stepped out of the box was called out on the next pitch, a strike. The pitch that hit Dolly was the first pitch of the next at bat. Peerless posted mea culpa profusely in the game thread.

I know it's probably Dolly's bad luck he got hit . I had a guy tell me he was knocking the pitcher off the mound and he did just that. That pitcher had broken his jaw the previous year. Luck maybe 🤔

Ben stiller was the crew chief supposedly.

Nobody is talking that he’s done for the year. Only people starting rumors like yourself.
Lol piss off nutsack. And yes there were several people saying it did not sound good..... and if there was an actual break he would be done for the season. Good news is they no longer think its going to be a pin in the elbow situation. He still may be done for the season at an estimated 5 weeks......

I had to look up the meaning of "mea culpa" and yes, I did post mea culpa profusely.
