even in godforsaken berkeley the players pray before the game. doesn't seem to have helped the performance on the field.

I am pretty jaded when it comes to athletes and religion. Too many fakers. Isn't there a couple of verses about praying in private and not for show? I feel like this is as close to what that verse was referring to as possible.

If you are sincere when you pray, you can do it anywhere at all. God loves it.

And judging from this board, I would say they take quite a bit of ridicule for being open about their faith.

Seems like one is ridiculed on this board more for NOT being Christian to me.

ima christian myself and jesus is my lord an saviour...ppl think cuz ima christian they think i think im better than anyone else and its not true at all...the only thing that bothers me is that when ppl that dont believe in god find out other ppl believe in god they treat those christians like.."ahh they cant think rational or they are brainwashed" or even we are money hungry...dont let a few corrupt preachers and fake christians judge every christian you meet..

As far as praying in public, has a lot to do with your motive. Im sure there are posers, that are looking for attention when they do. But that does not include all.

And it shouldn't be like that. We(Christians) shouldn't really be judgemental(Luke 6:31). To Christians, there should be only one Judgement that matters...and that's the final one. However, we aren't perfect so sorry if anything I have ever said to you seemed to be in a sense of ridicule

i had enough people here tell me i'm going to hell in one matter or another to not limit that statement to devout nonchristians. both set of people think they are doing the other a favor btw.

I will say, that if this is done by the team, for the team, I think it should be done in the locker room. I know it would mean alot more to me for this moment to be ALL about God and my teammates.
