Football and Faith

Oh good grief y'all. I know at least three of you in this thread have posted in the religion discussions, have you not? It's a heated subject. Quit trying to read something into what I post. I guess I should have said "If you look at this board as an example of the diversity football fans display in regard to religious views...". Would that have been better? My point was, football fans (and we are football fans, yes? that's my connection with all of you) are not afraid to get into religious arguments.

Don't want to speak for her, she does that well.

But I think I answered her question.

I am a Christian, but getting in religious arguments has no place in football. Praying on the field is great and there should be prayers for the players on the PA system before the games. However, to bring the subject up in a public forum is just asking for inflamed arguments and anger on both sides of the issue. It's just easier to do what you know is right and carry on with your life. I realize Jesus said go out and be fishers of men but it won't work in this forum with people that just want to argue about it and create a circus environment, which I believe is counter productive.

You can discuss, without arguing.

I agree, if it is arguing, it is counter poductive. When I feel like it gets to that point, I try to back away from the discussion. I try to stay out of those situations, but Im human like everyone else.:)

The title CLEARLY used a word to indicate what the thread was about. Those looking to debate the topic came in and did just that. Big surprise. But that's not a reason to NOT talk about it. Is it?

He's a registered ninja dog. Hopefully it was just a neighborhood squirrel, I need to look into this matter a little more.
