I think i might start making a post every now and then and let you know some inside information from the players point of view.......

1) Looks like one of our young promising db's may be on their way out or may be in serious trouble with the team. Don't be surprised if you hear a report on this in the next few days.

2) It's a possibility that Jayson Swain may be looking to get a redshirt for the upcoming season. Nagging injuries and nobody wants to waste a season and not play.

3) Tony McDaniel may end up being a very big surprise in the draft. A 6'7" 350lb DT that can run a 4.6 or 4.7 is very hard to pass on. He may sneak into the first day.

4) Cutcliffe is kinda on a power trip and basically making everyone prove themselves all over again. The players are responding well to it though....position battles will be heated!....this off-season will probably be one of the more eventful offseasons.

Nice post. Good info. Thanks.

I'm glad Cutcliffe is on a power trip. I think a few of the players were a little disrespectful to the coaching staff with some of their comments to the media last year, breaking team rules, getting in trouble, etc. I think most of these players deep down want a coach who will take charge and be an authortity figure and take control of the team. A lot of great coaches were like this, Lombardi, Bear Bryant, etc.

I won't be revealing my source or sources but I should have expected criticism and doubters.

I guess the statements have to pan out before i get any credibilty.

The wait begins.......

Well you'd have to expect something right? I mean i could say the same thing, and it may or may not come true....doesn't mean i have a source or not, just could mean that i'm a good guesser....

Has nothing to do with doubting or criticizing, but you come on here and list all this stuff with no explanation of even how you came in to this info....but expect people to just take it at face value? c'mon man....nothing personal....it just sounds like the old story that starts off like "I heard this from my buddy's cousin's mom's friend who lives in Atlanta"....

thanks for the info and stuff, and i'm sure we'll all keep checking in....

It's all good. We'll see in the end. Then you can say "I told ya so", but of course, deny, deny, deny. :biggrin2:

Power Trip...... Cut is the offensive coordinator .... these players who have problems proving their ability need to grow up.

I find that laughable. How productive was the offense this past season?????

Who ever made those statements need to get a clue.

Cut wasn't there last season....there could be some validity to those statements. He is a stickler, and he wants people that WANT to be there and play. Of all the inside info, this seems the most plausible one to me....

I don't know how much better we'll be next season, but i have a hard time believing we'll beat ourselves as many times as we did last season with Cut running the offesne this season.

There is a difference to LOSING a game and GETTING BEAT. The former implies you HAD something to lose, there fore if you had it, you had some say in you losing it. If you get beat, well you get beat. But not because you beat yourself. A trait that i want to see go away in Knoxville, and i belive Cut can do that.

Okay....I'll bite. I hope to God that the db isn't Moreley. He's a star in the making. I could deal with losing any of the rest but it would be a real blow to lose him.

This individual is either 1. a player
2. a equipment mgr.
3. a imposter for some hidden agenda spewin bs.
4. a friend/roomate of 1 or 2.

Im suspicious because I didnt know you could redshirt after youd actually played in games, and I see his 3rd bulletpoint as an opinion rather than a fact.....which may point to where this is coming from....eh Tony?...Im all for #4...last years team needs evey bite they can swallow of that.

I would not think Cutt is on any POWER trip. I would say Cutt is doing his job. None of us can complain about that!
As for the DB, interesting. If this is true, so be it! D-Mo being the only young talent with PT would be suspect. We'll believe it when we read it.

Tony McD, can be a Beast at the next level. His size 6' 7" 300 as a jr with his athleticism deserves a serious look in the early draft.

Swain, sitting out with a RS? I couldnt quote the NCAA rule. Provided he has reason to miss a season, Injury or Personal, He can ask for a 5th year of eligibility. Looking at his 03,04,05 stats theres no way he'll recieve the ok to sit out 06.

Arent ya glad March 2nd is around the corner? April 8th ...be there or wait for CSS to show the replay. :biggrin2:

Swain has every right to redshirt acording to NCAA rules and still play in '07. He doesn't have to petition the NCAA. Every player in college has 5 years to play 4, it doesn't matter when he takes his redshirt. He only has petition if he wants a 6th year and has had an injury that cost him a year of elgibility,

Didn't Travis Stephens redshirt after his Sophmore or Junior year?
