Dateline: Neyland Satdium.
1. I think someone should tell the young women working the concession stands that wearing a shirt that says "Sodexho" isn't the way to go.
2. One of the worst travel days of my life. I'll put details in the Pub later.
3. It was good to be back home.
4. UT better find some defensive linemen, else the season will really stink.
5. Jill has Pres Pub working like it used to.
6. Les Miles busted out the whoopass play.
7. Jim Harbaugh's team lays dowm for nobody.
8. Coach Fulmer taking points off the board was smart and tough.
9. I guess everyone who called Matt Stafford a stiff is lined up to issue an apology.
10. Tennessee beat a team that is far better than the cognescenti think.

To Point #9:

I didn't make any pre-game comments about Stafford but his performance was hardly impressive. His 2nd INT kept Bama in a game they should have never been in.

Georgia, Bama, South Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas and UT are all equally mediocre teams at this point.

Wow. I guess all the folks that call you hate cause they think you are anti all things Volunteer can just shut the hell up and start paying attention to what is actually being said. Good job.

I was thinking the samething.

Undefeated, Heisman Candidate, and possibly the future SEC East Champion, and yet still mediocre?

Before the season I was mocking all the hype that Woodson was getting but from now on I'm just going to shut up.

Also, on a college football note.

Tennessee, Michigan, and Notre Dame (maybe not so much as TN and MI) need to welcome a new team to the "I want the coach fired" crowd. Welcome the Louisville Cardinals.

From time to time I'll go check out teams message boards (I parallel it to people looking at a crash on the interstate). Louisville boards are crushing Kragthorpe, going as far as saying that he has divided the team. They are getting a little crazy, even to the point of talking about leasing a billboard to air their displeasures with him.

The football gods have played a cruel joke on Louisville fans by bestowing a little success on the program. I am not saying they don't deserve it, but I laugh when I think about the fact that only 1 out of about 10000 people I see wearing Cardinal Red can have a seat to the game. With that venue, they should just be happy with every win.

I agree with you Hat, ASU is a better team than most people realize. I can also tell you that if Tennessee doesnt find a d-line, Ark will rush for 1000 yards in our game alone.

I started the hate name. It is more than what you think. It is not a slam at him as much as a joke. I will say that those who think he is anti UT are way off base.

Since Michigan has been using another qb instead of Henne (sp) and are 2-0 since, Carr is slowly regaining his job.

ASU, yeah we knew coming in they would be a tricky one. They never went away against Texas, only losing by a touchdown.

Stafford would be great. But if you think Vince Young had/has problems with his mechanics, Stafford has major issues. I think I saw him set his feet twice all night. He threw every pass as he was running backword or falling away from the play. Georgia will throttle us I am afraid. Their defense never quit. The offense is the same as ours. They live by the little short dump pass. But they use their backs as recievers and they can fly. Moreno is gonna be a stud. They also have deep ball threats, unlike us. They are, for the first time in years, weak at the Tight End position. He dropped about five crucial passes.

How much would it have hurt to watch Ole Miss beat a team that flat out embarrassed us a week ago?

I honestly am beginning to think Houston Nutt's seat is getting hotter than Fulmer's. The new AD may walk in the door swinging an axe.

I don't think the DL is as responsible for our poor run defense as the LB's are. The DL played very solid in the ASU game. Our LB's don't make any plays against the run. They are out of position and never get off blocks.

For Carr to remain next year, Michigan has to beat Ohio State.
I'll have to talk with my Michigan brother in law and see.If they do lose to Ohio State you could be right but right now they are undefeated in their conference.

8. Coach Fulmer taking points off the board was smart and tough.

8. Listening to it on the radio, it sounded like an easy decision, but sometimes distance makes the choices clearer. Was there a lot of doubt as to what the correct decision should be in the stadium? Also, I'd like to hear your opinion on our decision to punt on what Kesling called 4th and an inch on our own 30-something.

10. ASU has made a pretty good showing against to big name UTs. It is tough to come from nowhere to respectability; GL to them for the rest of the season.

but he threw one heckuva lot of passes on crucial plays that his receivers just gaffed on. He will be a very, very good quarterback for UGA over the next couple of years.

Being at the game it seemed like it was a very easy decision. We were seemingly doing whatever we wanted on offense at the time so I didn't think for one second that we wouldn't take the first down, nor did anyone around me...just my 2 cents...

I'd say Stafford was solid... he had 2 TD's and 2 picks, but hit the crucial touchdown in a very hostile environment in Tuscaloosa.

Georgia, Bama, South Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas and UT are all equally mediocre teams at this point.
Strongly disagree. Other than Arkansas, all the other teams have been more impressive than UT.

To me it doesn't seem like he has made as much progress as most thought he would...I could be missing something...but he still seems just mediocre at this point...

He may know better than I do, but being in Ohio there are still a surprising amount of Michigan fans, and they seem to think that is the key game. Maybe if they ran the table and lost just that game and won the bowl game he could keep the job, but I'm not sure.

Stafford played fine but I didn't walk away from that game thinking he is a great SEC QB. Maybe he'll develop into one. To date, he hasn't lived up to the hype.

Hard to say if any teams in the SEC other than Florida and LSU have been very impressive. SC beat GA who beat Bama who beat Arky. Each of these teams have weaknesses and won their games based on some breaks here or there. Only one (SC) has played a top level team and they were dominated by LSU more than the score showed.

UK is playing solid but Arky has been shown to be one dimensional and have serious breakdowns in coaching. The win over Louisville is looking less impressive.

In short, I think you can throw a blanket over us, Arky, UK, UGA, Bama and SC. Anyone of these teams could blow-out the other or win a squeaker.

Sadly, a very telling commentary on the state of our football program
