A lot of posters need to step back from the ledge!! Based on what I have read on this site many have gone off the deep end regarding this whole coach search process. Y'all act like we're sinking faster than the Titanic. When done correctly this process takes time. Please take an anxiolytic(i.e. valium, xanax, ativan) and relax things will workout. For goodness sake we are the University of Tennessee we will be restored.

It's mostly the "Gruden or bust" crowd. No Gru = not satisfied from that group of fans.

While I'm not ready to jump off a cliff, I think it's telling that the current rumor is Gundy turned us down. I think he was probably just gunning for a raise regardless, but the longer this takes, the worse we look.

What happened to Tennessee as the best current opening?

Seeing as how it has just been reported we have been turned down today by both Gundy and Strong, I will go with " the sky is falling" crowd.....

There are going to be several coaches that interview with U.T. but aren't interested in the job. They will do that in an effort to get a raise at their current school.
Gundy and Strong come to mind...

There are some coaches who would consider U.T. but are truly happy at their current job, so see no need to even interview with U.T. Fisher and Golden come to mind...

Then there are coaches who would love to come to U.T because it would be a step up for them. Such as the current coach at Cincinnati, Butch Jones...

What will end up happening is that we fired Dooley and paid the $5,000,000 buy out. Then no one showed any real interest in the job, so we hired another lower level coach, who is real similiar to Dooley. Then at the press conference, Hart will say "This is the man that I wanted to hire all along" and Hart will expect us to believe him....

Hiring people is what the University of Tennessee does best....what on earth makes anyone wonder:yes:
