I have spent the last couple days reviewing the post on this forum, and there are many that are not only informative , but many filled with viable strategic options that truly should be considered. For those that go to work each day, your ability to perform the responsibilities assigned to your profession , would and should result in ( no pun intended ) a " turnover" of your position. A surgeon is paid highly because they have put forth the effort to be the very best of their trade. What if your surgeon was chosen on wins and losses. You pay for the surgeon and should have the right to have input or choose the very best. The Lady Vols Basketball team is supported by the very best fan base in the world, and they pay the salaries of the coaching staff. We have the right to voice our concerns and have them evaluated, but say anything negative and your just a " low life" that can't be pleased.

There are many suggestions on this forum that has the possibility to change the outcome of the program if those in operational/selective positions would just listen.

We as fans hate to say it because of loyalty to Pat, but Holly truly doesn't have the HEAD COACHING experience and it is rearing it's ugly head on a game by game basis. Fans we aren't complaining, just stating the obvious and the only ones that will listen and help eliminate our pain and embarrassment for the program and beloved University is each other.

So regardless of what anyone else writes, in the case the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE LADY VOLS BASKETBALL COACHING STAFF..... it is what it is , and will get no better , look for another surgeon.:victory::clap:

In college athletics, the voices of fans matter little, if at all. Fans vote, not with their mouths, but with their butts. For years, the Lady Vols have been at the very top of women's basketball attendance. When the number of butts in the seats drop significantly, Hart will take note, and it will matter little who says what.

When Fulmer had his issues in 2008, we, got on this website and complained. Also, the seats became empty and the local print media got on board with some articles that were written. All toll, this was a big part of Fulmer's exit.
I have nothing personal against Holly but I see no need to keep her around and wait until the program hits rock bottom and from there take 4 seasons before we get to the NCAA again.
I bet that Hart retains Holly but around the time that Obama is walking out of the White House, Holly will be packing her bags to leave U.T. Hart will give Holly one more season but I don't think she will make it completely through next season.
Do NOT Do NOT Do Not make a legacy hire. Hire someone who can get the job done, first and foremost. A South Carolina assistant, A Ky. assistant, a UConn assistant.
Just because you played for Pat and ate lunch with her does not mean you can coach very good. So a legacy hire is not necessarily the answer.

Avg. home attendance per game
2009-10: 12,254
2010-11: 12,537
2011-12: 14,414
2012-13: 11,390 (Holly's 1st year as HC)
2013-14: 11,038
2014-15: 10,375
2015-16: 9892

That's a pretty significant drop, IMO. And when you compare those numbers to what's happened at South Carolina, it's embarrassing to think that the SEC's premier program historically has fallen this far behind.

2009-10: 3442 (Staley's 2nd year)
2010-11: 2996
2011-12: 3139
2012-13: 3952
2013-14: 6371
2014-15: 12,293
2015-16: 14,533

It already has - UT attendance is down 22% in the last 10years. So far this year attendance is down nearly 5% from last year.

7-8 years. And it all started with recruiting.
We have ZERO recruits for next year.

I call it the Jerry Jones factor as long as 50,000 people show up at Cowboy Stadium he will continue to put a less than stellar product on the field. When only 5,000 start showing up game after game only then will things change. It is the same way with the Lady Vols. When attendance drop at home and most of the Orange is empty seats then action will have to be taken.

From things Holly has said recently, she is not even close to quitting she will have to be fired. Mr. Hart will not take that action until it starts hitting the university in the pocketbook. I do think Holly has to have a good 2017 recruit year or some decisions have to be made or, for all intent and purpose, the program will be headed to the point of no return.

Why not back another Tennessee team? Chattagnooga is 13-5 with 4 of the loses against ranked teams. Almost the same colors and, in my opinion, a better coach. Go Mocs.

would you really like to do this to the program? If we are to get recruits we must at least attract them with the prospect of playing in front of a crowd. I don't know what the answer is but I do feel like these young ladies deserve out support.

Thanks for throwing us a bone, Uconnboy.

So many people on this site are crucifying Holly and the team it only seemed natural to offer another option. I've always liked TENN and P.S. She had the dedication, and demanded it from her players, that it takes to make a team great. So it's tough watching them struggle this year and unfortunately it looks like it's a sign of times to come.

Well either you are trolling or you really, really don't understand fandom. Sure bandwagon fans only follow a team when it is going well and switch allegiances when it is not.

However, more committed fans stick with a team through thick and thin and get frustrated, worried, etc. during down phases.

So, yes there are criticisms of Holly but it amazes me that some get the vapors over this fact; as though it just never happens that coaches anywhere else come under pressure when teams are not performing well.

For my own take, I have been adamant that Holly and Company warranted supported for posting a pretty good record in their first three years given the circumstances around CPS and the crushing injury problems.

This year, to this point, presents a worrisome drop-off in almost all phase of LV basketball and it is clear that something needs to change. Realistically, I think the first step will be (or should be) for Holly to hire a new slate of assistants and see if some new ideas and voices can get things going in a more positive direction. But if things don't dramatically turn around by next year, I see no way the University of Tennessee can stay with her, despite her history of long term loyalty.

But in the end, I, like most on this board (I believe), will still support the team. So you are free to go off and support the Mocs all you want (I bet they even have a fan board- Go get em! Reno Tony)

You really must be reading a different board than I am. I'm waiting to read that 3000 fans with pitchforks, axes and torches were heading for Holly's house. I only read a few boards and I have never seen the hatred spewed toward a head coach as I have here. There are a lot of strong fans here that defend the coach and player... and that's great. Sometimes giving people an option makes them appreciate what they have. And I will check out the Mocs to see if they have a fan board. Have a blessed day.
