For some strange odd reason, I am happy to be a Republican again!

Surely all those dems that were against one party controlling the Congress and Executive Branch will vote for a Republican president...
Best chance for getting a Republican pres. in '08 will be if middle eastern terrorists set of a nuke in LA, NYC or Chicago. Second best chance is McCain vs Hillary.

yep the same way W was suppose to be the great uniter.

Takes two sides to unite --- neither side did their part previously. We shall see if the new uniters (Pelosi and Reid according to their statements) have any more success.

My 401(k) has reunited nicely.
Not really a 401k issue since I can't micromanage it but I am thinking about sinking some $ into stem cell research companies as a short term investment in the hopes that D's will losen the restrictions.

i agree with that, to much arguing not enough action. with W still in there, i still see nothing changing. he's to far left and reid and the gang are to far to the right and iraq will still drag us down internationally. won't change till the dems take the whitehouse.:)

I think that the republican partly has already shifted far right, which is why this more moderate territory was open for the dems to move into. I think we will actually see the return of fiscal conservatism, which is some regards, I am all for. Ive seen quite a few comentators say that this election does not represent an ideological shift, but rather a shift in who occupies the center. It is really a bed that the bush admin has made for the republican party.

Wow, took one day to start the, "if dems don't make things "better", it is not their fault" theme

I don't think Republicans have shifted far right. I think the leadership allowed the party to degenerate into a rudderless existence that actually ignored conservative principles. They became what they originally sought to reform.

I think we can all agree though, It is a fine day :eek:k: . The republican strangle hold has been broken, one that 4 years ago looked unbreakable. Just goes to show, power corrupts.

Also goes to show, that all Bush policy is decided by politics not reality. I strongly believe Rumsfeld would still be SOS today if the election had gone the other way, which was why everything was kept secret until today.

You're not a Republican OE, stop trying to convince yourself you're something you're not. Embrace your Democratic tendencies and watch the worries melt away.

Sounds like youve been hitting the happy plant.
