In reality, they weren't. They were ranked there after beating LSU but the lost Gurley. .

In REALITY they were. They were in fact, ranked no. 6. It was in black and white. It's a FACT.

I think you mean that they were overated at the time. Maybe so, but how would they have played without injuries?

In any case, I can believe they were rated no. 6. I don't have a problem with FACTS.

right on if u believe this/then put the bottle down.. if this.staff loses to vandy u sunshine sheep better
hide no recruiting ranking will repair a loss next week..

no freaking excuses. i will take a bowl game n great rec class but 5 wins no way..

btw guz at auburn is a better coach .. based on bis record ytd..

Recruiting is exactly what will repair our program, whether we lose to vandy or not.

Having said that, I really don't expect to lose and yes, a loss would be unacceptable, but still not the end of the world.

Fine, they were over-rated. But no one gave Mizzou credit for going into UGA and beating them. "They were beat up due to the UT game."

No one gave Vandy credit because of the same reasoning.

The UGA team that lost to Mizzou and Vandy was the same team that scored the last 10 points against UT. THOSE ARE FACTS...to use your words.

While Volnation was in a collective circle je*k over losing to UGA, Mizzou and Vandy actually went out and beat them .

Uga is about the same caliber team as us. Yet they have had the same coaching staff in place for years, have had great recruiting, and have a fourth year starter at qb. We have none of the above. All of which means we should be pretty optimistic about about the future.

Very Funny!

Georgia is a better team. We just played above our talent level that game. We need to do that one more time at home this year.. We need the team that showed up for the Georgia and SC games to show up next weekend..

Agreed. If our guys come out flat, they will be beaten. If that occurs, I will be very concerned about their mindset at Kentucky.

If they get run out of Neyland against Vandy, then they've quit on this staff like that did late in the year on Dooley. That would be very disappointing.

Hmm, well some of the injuries occurred DURING our game, and frankly we played much better after that.

Having said that, I don't think it makes much sense to parse through the fine details of why we lost to Uga. We DID lose.

But notice that the very next week we beat USC jr, who also beat "mighty Mizzou" on the road.

So maybe the VN was right to be excited that we played Uga tough, because the very next game those hopes were realized.

The last three weeks don't fill any of us with confidence, but at the same time this is a Tennessee team that has been a loser since 2010, literally no winning record, full of Dooley holdovers, that just had to play 3 legit top ten teams with the first two on the road. My OPINION is that they just got completely worn down and tanked.

The good news is, the season is still there for the taking. Just beat vandy and Kentucky...both very doable, and we go to our first bowl in 3 years and hopefully win it, thus securing our best season since 2007.

7-6 with a minor bowl win is not what Tennessee aspires to, but it IS a huge step forward.

Hopefully Butch has the team looking forward and not backward, thinking about future success and not past failure, because the recent past is UGLY....but the future could be very bright indeed.

It's all up to them!
