For those of you who are scared of Mizzou

Offensive Rankings (overall):

Troy #19

Tennessee #23

Mizzou #112

Yes I know we'll make them look better, but I thought it was worth a mention.

Anybody else notice Dooley saying today that he's gonna be involved in all the defensive planning this week instead of offensive planning?

Anybody else think it's strange he decides to focus on defense instead of offense in week 10 with the 112 ranked offense coming to Neyland?

Hmmmm......

This will be my first Neyland game in 12 years. Kids, divorce and recession....
Can't tell you how excited I am.

Look for the big building with the Brick fascade. When last you were there, it was steel girders and ramps....stop by a say Hello to the general. He will be kneeling around.

Many Mizzou fans wish Franklin wasn't back. There offense isn't good with or without him. The difference is his turnovers are losing them games. Their OC Yost is inept and more concerned with running reverses than an actual offense.

I'm not saying this is an easy win by any means, but we should be able to outscore them. I have a lot of Mizzou friends and they thought they would get blown out this game, until they saw the game against Troy that is.

I was impressed with the readiness level of the Missouri players against Florida. I don't think they have 70% of the talent UF has now. But they put in place the game plan of their coaches and shortened the game considerably. The depth issues plaguing Mizzou in earlier SEC games didn't show up against Florida. With any decent level of quarterback play, they would've won at The Swamp.

They are out of their depth in this conference, especially on offense. But they are well-coached and can cause problems for anyone whose players/coaches aren't into playing the game.

Mizzou will show up and compete. Pinkel will make certain of that.

I'm not so sure about our head coach. That makes what should be a comfortable game look like another nail-biter.

They'll have to outscore them too. This defense isn't stopping anyone consistently enough for it not to be.. I do give them credit for bowing up in the 4th quarter and stopping them 4 out of 5 times. All though i did wonder if Troy's players were just winded from running up and down the field all day...

After Saturday, I would be a little scared if we were playing the School for the Blind! :banghead2:

Troy was the best offense out of Troy, Missouri, Vandy #77, Kentucky #108.

Our defense should be able to stop each of the last 3 teams and win out.

Strong =Dooley

no. Not close. I get not wanting Storng, but the guy has proven himself as a coordinator and done nice job as HC so far, DD did neither. Strong is much better than DD. Not my pick for our HC, but it's silly to say he is equal to DD

So what your saying is that our Ds conditioning through the 4th qtr has gotten better?? Cause if thier guys were winded like you suggested I'm pretty sure our guys weren't fresh.

Also, the commentators mentioned how Troys conditioning program was really intense so thats why they were able to run up and down the field so much with ease. Can't remember what kind of drills they did but the team did them on top of thier regular workout during the summer I think.

But of course let's give our guys some credit and take it away cause they can't possibly be able to do anything positive or credit worthy while Dooley is their coach. Smfh.

this is for a select few on here who apparently don't get it.

some of you are still stuck on stupid.

seriously.

tennessee has won 1 of its last 13 conference games. the last win was in overtime against vandy at home. they lost to kentucky playing a wr at qb.

yet, some of you are still going to look at some sort of statistical ranking regarding your opponent and act like "no problem, we've got this". how some of you can witness what you have and be dismissive of any opponent is beyond me.

you need to wake up and smell what you are shoveling.

tennessee is a bad football team with a bad football coach and has a history of mailing in effort.

tennessee may very well beat missouri. wouldn't shock me in the slightest. but, to look at any game on the schedule and not be concerned is total insanity

More truth than many of my fellow Vol fans will admit.

They like to just yell that all is well. Even though UT is historically bad on defense and cannot beat a quality team.

But I guess that is what the powers that be want. More Dooley and less fans.

I've reached the sad realization that we have to be scared of everyone we play these days. And I literally mean everyone

I'm assiming Troy went from 40's all the way to 19 after our game?

It was a thought Francis.. I didn't state that as fact.. Learn the difference between the two..

If Doofus doesn't beat Mizzou, he needs to be fired no later than Sunday

No, he needs to be fired regardless of how the last three cupcake games go.

Fyi, Missou gave FL all they wanted in a 14 - 7 loss last week.

I don't think they will be a pussover against the Dools lead Vols.

Seriously? Could our defense stop the women's soccer team?

I don't think Tennessee can overlook anyone at this point. I'd be nervous about Vandy for sure. It's obvious scoring isn't the problem. But our defensive record consistently shows we should never feel secure about any game. Mizzou and Kentucky should both be wins, but I'm nervous. I hope we can beat Vandy but I'm not putting any money on it. Until the defense plays better I'm not betting on it.
