Now isn't really the best time for Tennessee fans to be laughing at Vanderbilt.
It's like bragging for years to your cousin that you're a better golfer than he is, yet it was never really all that important to your cousin to be good at golf, but over the last couple of years your cousin has actually been just as good as or better than you.
Probably best just not to say anything about it, save embarrassment.
It's the perfect time to laugh at them.
I don't care what state we are in, THAT was a stupid statement, and the guy was dead serious.
On top of that, most of you are missing the point. You guys saying we can't make fun of them, you DO realize their best teams in the past 30 years are only 1-2 against UT in those years, right? The 2005 Vandy team, probably their best since 1982 up to that point, beat a 5-6 UT team. The 2008 team, first bowl team in almost 30 years, could not beat a LAME DUCK 4-7 Vol team who had just lost to Wyoming....and on top of that the game was at Vanderbilt.
Which brings us to last year, where the "great" James Franklin could not beat THE worst Tennessee team in the modern era, who was 4-6 coming into the game, and the same UT team lost to Kentucky the next week who played a WR at QB and ran 2 offensive plays all game.
So how about you guy wait and see if Franklin can beat this lame duck Tennessee team? If he can't beat THIS UT team, there is no way in heck I'll ever say the guy is a great coach. You go 0-2 against Dooley, and be the ONLY coach that can say that, you got problems.
