Has anyone heard of this before? Ford Motor Company has developed a way of “teaching” for schools and has been slowly rolling it out across the US. I just found out Knoxville’s BOE and leaders attended a virtual meeting with Ford back in October. It’s especially concerning after Ford contacted our state reps and told them if any restrictions were put on businesses regarding vaccine mandates that they would not build their new plant in West TN. What is Ford’s real goal here?

Ford rightly contacted our state reps and said that they did not want the state regulating whether their private business could require masks. I have not read anything about Ford and vaccines.

So a corporation gets to dictate what laws should be made over people that live in the state? From what I’ve read, it wasn’t the mask mandate but the vaccine mandate.

Is the idea of corporations applying political pressure for policy they like new to you? That they even make threats? This isn't new or surprising

1) the laws are attempting to tell businesses that operate in the state how to run their business. Ford operates in this state. 2) have you seen a quote from Ford or a person saying Ford mentioned vaccine legislation to them, the Tennessean article had a direct quote with no mention of vaccines.

Back to the actual topic…….why is Ford developing a curriculum for schools?

Hopefully Ford is providing equal feedback to the idiot in chief on his own mandates. If that’s the case then good for Ford.

My company is active in the communities it has a presence in on STEM development. I’ve volunteered to go to schools and talk about my engineering career. I think it’s fairly common for companies to be active in the communities they are in like this. How they go about it is more important I’d guess.

They probably want people graduating from high schools and colleges in the state to have a firm grasp of the skills they look for when hiring. I've seen companies move into an area andpay to start up a program at nearby colleges so they could have a pre-trained work force.
... or its a conspiracy of woke lib car execs to indoctrinate children to get the vaccine.

My company works with a local University on their logistics and IT programs. They also have funded programs to get women more involved. Several of our directors are also guest instructors. The partnership has really paid dividends by getting great interns and new grad hires. I trust them more than govt

I laid brick for what was pre2008 the largest privately owned masonry company in the US...uniforms and personal appearance same as military etc. Owned their own concrete plants and trucks as well as more than 120 brick mason crews just in Charlotte. I was with them for 9 years.

They started a masonry apprenticeship program at local schools where kids who were in the program got out of school 2 hours early every day and came to work on crews laboring and learning to get a head start on becoming masons. They could make at least 25% more money than an 18yo kid their same age who came in as a "green horn" after graduation.

No schools here that i know of have auto mechanics classes or anything past old fashioned wood shop where you make pinewood dirby cars and a clock for your mama while hopefully keeping all your fingers.

On a weird aside: the company is owned by Truelight church (cult) members who homeschool all of their kids male and female and dont believe in birth control. Many little masons and their future wives made that way between the 2 main families and offshoots. Little girls took classes at church on sewing, cooking, doing chores etc while the boys followed dad around at work...until they got popped by the state for child labor allegations. Then kids only showed up on the job on weekends with tools in their hands in a sneaky manner. Point is that even though their kids would never be in the apprenticeship program, they tapped local schools for talent for their company. I hope thats all Ford is doing? Have been a Ford guy all my life as far as American trucks/cars go.

You obviously don't own one of their trucks. Their engineers are brain dead idiots that were never made to work on one of them once they left the factory. They are led by even dumber idiots that run the company that continues to crank out trucks that they can't sell because of their idiotic decision to outsource everything they could to save $16.92 per vehicle. F Ford, I hate the truck I have and hopefully they go under because they deserve to.

Let me guess, cam phaser? One more of their known problems that usually don't show up until the warranty is up.

I truly hope it is something that can benefit schools and education. I did look at their history of higher ups that have worked for the federal government and that makes me a little suspicious.

Nope, I just don't like things that aren't made to last or be able to be fixed. Ford is run by bean counters, and bean counters do what bean counters do. My company used to be run by engineers and it was run well until the hedge fund bean counters decided to make it a piece of crap company. Our country is starting to live the hell that the bean counters have blessed us with.
